Can anyone tell me what Hanfu means?

Let us first understand it literally: Han refers to the Han nationality; Fu refers to clothing. So the Hanfu is literally the representative clothing of the Han nation, such as the Banner (Manchu) robe, the Tibetan robe; or the Korean (Korean) robe, which is the same as the (Wu) robe.

From a basic point of view, it is the clothing system of the Confucian cultural circle (Chinese character cultural circle), but it is not called Hanfu, because Hanfu is what people today call it. Although the ancient Han Dynasty had the same clothing and hats, there were some differences. The difference is that ancient books only call it Tangfu or Mingfu, and they are named after the dynasty. Others, such as Annan, Ryukyu, Ancient Japan, and Ancient Korea, have changed their names since their transformation.
