I have seen a legendary story. I will record it first and then share my own views. Song Zhiwen, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, was demoted to Yuezhou (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang) and stopped by Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou.

Lingyin Temple is located at the foothills of Lingyin Mountain to the north of West Lake! It is one of the ten ancient temples of Zen Buddhism. Founded in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 326), it is large in scale, majestic, with caves and stone walls and quiet scenery. Song Zhiwen fell in love with the scene and recited: "Looking down from the building to see the sea and the sun"; but he could not think of the second couplet. At this time, the old monk who was sitting next to him and chanting Buddha said the same thing: the door faces the tide of Zhejiang. When Song Zhiwen heard this, he was shocked. Just as he was about to ask the old monk for his Buddhist name, the old monk had already entered the meditation room.

Song Zhiwen visited Lingyin again at night and saw the bright moonlight in the temple, the pine trees and spring stones reflecting each other, and the shadows of the trees dancing, but he felt that the autumn atmosphere was overwhelming! There was a slight chill, and his heart was touched, so he chanted again: The trees on the edge of the mountain are cold in the wind; Who knows, no matter how hard he thinks about it, he will never find a suitable second line. Song Jianjian walked back and forth in the temple with his eyebrows furrowed. This scene was seen by the old monk meditating on the side. The old monk asked Song Zhi, "How about I repeat the second couplet for you?" Then he chanted: The sound of the spring on the stone carries the sound of rain and autumn. Song Zhiwen was overjoyed. He grabbed the old monk's hand and prayed for the Dharma. The two hit it off and talked all night long. It turns out that this old monk is King Luo Bin, one of the "Four Heroes of the Early Tang Dynasty" who lives here in seclusion. Of course, this is just a story. As the worshipers of Chinese metrical poetry (also the standard title of Tang poetry), would Du Shenyan, Song Zhiwen and others not come up with such a couplet? It's obviously impossible. So what I mean is that these two couplets must have been written by Song Zhiwen alone. Because Song Zhiwen's character is indeed shameful to the world, and King Luo Bin is a flag-bearer who is not afraid of power. Of course, it was told as a story that people loved to hear.
