Where does Mayang Duck belong?

Mayang duck, also known as Mayang hybrid meat duck, is an excellent meat variety selected through hybridization. This variety has the advantages of fast production speed, good reproductive performance and strong disease resistance, which is not only suitable for nomadic free-range, but also suitable for large-scale and high-density house feeding. The static weight of adult male duck is 3-3.5 kg, that of female duck is 2.75-3 kg, that of 7-week-old meat duck is 2-2.5 kg, and the feed-meat ratio is 2.9: 1. The mother duck lays eggs once every six months, with an average of 250 eggs per year.

Mayang hybrid meat ducks are raised in Mayang county, and the central producing area is the towns around the county. The county raises 2.5 million ducks a year and keeps 30,000 ducks in cages all the year round. There are more than 20 hatcheries with an annual hatching capacity of more than 6 million. Mayang hybrid meat duck is famous in Hunan, Guizhou, Hubei and Chongqing, and its products are exported to Central China and Southwest China.
