Charming Nepal
After a month of preparation, I finally set foot on this legendary country with my friends on December 7, 2019. When the plane entered Nepal, the passengers exclaimed and hurriedly looked outside the cabin. , we saw only the continuous snow-capped mountains, wow, we saw the legendary Himalayas, it was so spectacular, everyone picked up their mobile phones to take pictures.
?
The first stop of the itinerary is Kathmandu. Kathmandu is an ancient city with a history of more than 1,000 years. It was founded in 723. There are more than 2,700 large and small temples in the city. It can be said that it is the fifth city in the world. There is a temple for every step and a nunnery for every ten steps. Some people say that there are more temples than houses and more gods than people here, so people call this city "the city of temples". "Following the tour guide's advice, we first went to the old and new royal palaces in Kathmandu, and then visited the Haru Mandoka Palace. The entrance to the palace was guarded by Nanglka soldiers, who are famous for their bravery and prowess in fighting, and we also visited the Kumari Living Goddess Temple. This is the only residence of a living goddess in the world. We were very lucky. The goddess stayed by the window for about 5 minutes. The ruins left after the earthquake can vaguely show the prosperity of this city yesterday.
< p> ? After lunch, we went to visit the Boudhanath Pagoda, the largest round pagoda in the world, commonly known as "Little Tibet." The huge white dome is extraordinary and gives people a feeling of spaciousness. There are pagodas on all sides. The two Buddha eyes mean to see everything in the world. Going up the pyramid layer by layer means first bitterness and then sweetness. When reaching the top of the tower, it means the nirvana of the phoenix. The Boudhanath Pagoda is one of the cultural heritages of the Kathmandu Valley. Here there are people from People from all over the world come to pray, worship Buddha, and enjoy the scenery. There are also many elven "doves" that symbolize peace. They peck at the food scattered by passers-by without any fear. People and animals live in harmony. On the second day, we went to the Royal Chitawag National Park, which is located in the Dalai Plain in southern Nepal. It is also the first national park in Nepal, close to the Indian border. The jungle is dense with many redwoods, as well as rhinos, elephants, sika deer, crocodiles, peacocks, etc. The one-horned rhino here is an animal that is frequently extinct in the world. The Bengal tiger here is also a protected animal in the Himalayas. The Laputi River, which is composed of seven rivers, meanders through here. You can see crocodiles lazily basking in the sun with their mouths open on the bank by canoe.
Sitting there with a sense of apprehension. It's a bit unbearable for the elephant. The elephant has to carry four guests and the owner and five people. It walks slowly and hard, listening to the chirping of birds in its ears, the river flowing quietly, eyes closed, Temporarily putting aside the hustle and bustle of the world and enjoying this moment of tranquility, suddenly a deer sprang out from the bushes and looked at us with curious eyes. The elephant was still walking slowly, rolling up the grass on the roadside. Get up and eat. Suddenly someone screamed. It turned out that there was a rhinoceros eating grass not far away. It didn't care about the elephant's arrival, as if to say: You are big, so am I. Not small. When night comes, walk on the streets of Chitwan, take a deep breath of the air here, cleanse your soul, and maybe have a chance encounter with a rhinoceros.
Next, let’s go. On the way to Lumbini, we saw how the locals trade goods and felt the charm of Nepalese musical instruments.
Lumbini is a sacred place for Buddhism and was excavated from the Lumbini Garden ruins. In the ruins of the palace, you can vaguely see the Ashoka stone pillar next to the Buddha Sakyamuni who gave up everything in the world in pursuit of the paradise, which witnesses the record of the Mauryan Dynasty ruler Ashoka's pilgrimage to Lumbini in 240 BC.
? From Lumbini, drive to Bandipur, which is called the Newari Cultural Museum. The folk customs here are simple, people sit leisurely at the door and bask in the sun, and dogs sleep peacefully in the middle of the road. . Here, we met a group of young and energetic middle school students who were enthusiastic and curious. Lunch is eaten at the dining hall on the top of the mountain. Can you imagine the feeling of eating while watching the snow-capped mountains in the distance? What we are eating at this moment is not rice, it is an indescribable feeling of comfort.
Drive from Bandipur to Pokhara, known as the "Switzerland of Asia". Walk around the lake, enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountains, and experience the blend of cultural heritage and national humanities. The medieval heritage buildings are due to the people. It is full of vitality, and people also reveal a peaceful and respectful national character because of the artistic influence of these traditional buildings. On the day we arrived in Pokhara, the sun had already set and the sky was a bit gray, but it couldn't stop us from visiting the lake.
On the second day in Pokhara, the itinerary was a bit full: watching the sunrise, taking a helicopter to Everest Base Camp, and paragliding. We got up at 4 o'clock in the morning and prepared to go to Fishtail Peak to watch the sunrise. We came early, occupied a good position, and waited for the sun to come out. At about 5 o'clock, a reddish color appeared in the east, gradually turning red and soft. Under the light, the entire Himalayas suddenly woke up, illuminating the snow-capped mountains and the faces of people watching the sunrise.
When I returned to the hotel, I received a notice from the tour guide that the helicopter could not take off due to weather conditions, and the morning activity was changed to paragliding. I'm both looking forward to paragliding but also scared. I wonder if I can play normally when I get to the venue? After breakfast, the paragliding club sent a car to pick us up and take us to the venue. We signed an insurance contract before setting off. I was so nervous! When I arrived at the venue, I saw paragliders flying out one after another. I was envious and scared at the same time. When the instructor helped me fasten my seat belt and prepare to set off, I calmed down and comforted myself by saying: What is there to be afraid of? Yes, set off with your eyes closed. When I rose into the air, I looked down. I had a panoramic view of Foy Lake. It was so beautiful, but I felt a little dizzy. I hurriedly looked at the sky, nervously and tremblingly singing about me and my motherland, pursuit, and meeting again. Song, let the singing help me take away my fear. The coach also hummed along with me in a low voice. I opened my hands and closed my eyes slightly. Haha, it feels a bit romantic.
Free activities in the afternoon, walking through the streets and alleys with friends, walking and taking pictures. There are many distinctive houses, bars and restaurants, all built in a romantic and emotional way. While walking, I suddenly felt A band came over and looked at the attire of these people, black clothes and white khata-like things tied around their bodies. They looked at each other in confusion with their friends. I didn’t know what was going on. They looked back and saw the wedding car and the people in gorgeous national costumes. A group of people secretly took a few shots and went back to ask the tour guide.
? Phewa Lake at dusk is like a mature woman, plump and connotative. When you look down on it from the air, you feel amazing. It is so clear and stylish, like a piece of green emerald inlaid in the magical land of Pokhara. In order to make up for the regret, I came to Phewa Lake again with my friends in the early morning after leaving Pokhara. In the early morning, Phewa Lake was as quiet as a virgin, pure and pleasant, with a little fog, and it was worthy of the name "Switzerland of Asia".
The next trip was to take a propeller plane to Kathmandu, and then to Nagarkot to enjoy the sunrise and sunset scenery of the Himalayas. Unfortunately, the weather was not beautiful, and there was only fog. The teammate said with a smile: The sun in the world is the same, but the foggy scenes are different. We have made a profit. After leaving Nagarkot, it started to rain lightly. Is it washing away the dust for us distant guests? Still want to keep us, goodbye Nepal, goodbye friendly and tolerant people!
