Is there any way to prevent children from lowering their heads too low when writing?

Many children always tilt their heads and lower their heads when doing their homework, which is very hard. Although parents have repeatedly urged their children to "sit up straight" and "look up", they just can't change it. Why on earth is this?

In fact, the reason is very simple. Parents write a few words according to the following requirements, which can be understood immediately.

(1) Put the pen on the chest about 20cm, and cover your index finger with your thumb;

② Put the pen tip on the chest about 20cm, and the height of holding the pen is less than 2 cm;

(3) Turn the wrist to the left until the palm of your hand is almost parallel to the desktop (hands clenched);

(4) Put the paper on your chest, put all your arms on the table, and the pen tip is one arm away from the lower edge of the table. Write it in the upper left corner and the upper right corner of the paper.

How do you feel?

1) thumb joint covers the pen tip;

2) Turn your head slightly to the left and lower it so that you can see the nib and write clearly.

In reality, many children hold pens incorrectly. Among them, the proportion of students with their thumbs wrapped around their index fingers, holding pens low and clasping their hands is very high. In addition, many children have bad writing habits, such as writing on their desks, their arms not following the words and their hands not moving the paper. Because of incorrect pen holding posture or bad writing habits, they have to bow their heads or bow their heads when writing.

In fact, parents are well aware that children now have a lot of homework, and the homework time is several hours every day. Writing with your head down for a long time will have hidden dangers such as myopia, strabismus and uneven shoulder development.

It can be said that letting children write with their heads down is a very anxious and embarrassing thing for parents. Using posture corrector and posture correction electronic pen has little effect; Preaching or even shouting has no effect. So, how can we quickly and effectively get rid of the writing habit of writing with the head tilted and the head down? In my opinion, the key to solving the habit of writing with one's head down is: (1) learn to use force correctly; (2) Learn to write with the right half of the pen tip; (3) Keep the correct direction of the pen tip. According to the author's experience, once the above three problems are solved, the problems of writing with one's head tilted and writing with one's head bowed will be solved.

Below, the author will talk about the solutions to writing with a crooked head and writing with a bowed head:

First of all, learn to use your wrist and forefinger.

Perhaps, parents are not very clear about the most fundamental reason why the thumb wraps the index finger and holds the pen low. In fact, the most fundamental reason why the thumb is wrapped around the index finger and the pen is low is that it will not use the wrist and index finger to exert force. As we all know, writing mainly depends on the wrist and forefinger. However, in reality, many children do not use their wrists and forefingers to write, but only use their thumbs or forefingers. In order to hold the pen steadily and write beautifully, they have to wrap their forefinger with their thumbs and hold the pen in a lower position, as shown in the following figure:

So, how do children learn to apply force with their wrists and forefinger? The method is simple: swing your wrist to draw a horizontal line, and press your index finger to draw a vertical line. Draw 10 minutes every day. According to the author's experience, after 1 month's practice, the problems of thumb covering index finger and low pen grip are basically solved.

Second, learn to write with the right half of the pen tip.

Did you learn to use your wrist and forefinger's stomach to exert strength, and then you solved the problem of writing with your head down and writing with your head down? Not necessarily! Why? When the palm is not placed correctly and the angle between the palm and the desktop is too small (hold hands tightly), the thumb joint will still block the writing line of sight, and you will still tilt your head and bow your head when writing, as shown in the following figure:

So, how to solve the problem of holding hands?

You can try again according to the method of "③" above, and you will find:

1) The pen holder is located at a distance of 45 on both sides of the vertical line below the word, as shown in the following figure:

2) Don't write with the right half of the pen tip.

We know that writing with the right half of the pen tip is the most fluent. When writing with the right half of the pen tip, the angle between the palm surface and the desktop is about 30, and there will be no hand hug. In other words, writing with the right half of the pen tip is the key to solving the problem of holding hands. How to solve it? Walk in two steps. Step 1: Place a support pad at the muscle of the thumb root, and naturally lay the palm side and the little finger side flat on the desktop. Then, draw lines and circles on the white paper with the right half of the pen tip, as shown below. Step 2: Take away the support pad and continue to draw lines and circles according to the method of step 1. Stick to it for a few weeks, and the problem of holding hands and writing will be solved.

Third, keep the pen tip in the right direction.

With the correct pen holding posture and the right angle between the palm and the desktop, can you write without tilting your head? Not exactly. If the orientation of the pen holder and the pen tip is incorrect, then there will still be the phenomenon of slanting head and bowing head. When the pen tip is too far away from the lower edge of the table (> > 20cm) or too far to the left or right (beyond the outside of the scapula), the writing line of sight will also be blocked by the thumb joint, as shown in the following figure:

So, how can we keep the pen tip in the right orientation?

1) When writing, keep 1/3- 1/2' s arm outside the desk;

2) The left and right hands cooperate with each other to keep the notebook or paper in the correct position on the chest (3-5 cm to the right from the vertical centerline);

3) Keep the pen tip within the southeast range of 0-45 degrees.
