According to the arrangement of the leaders of the provincial extension station, please ask me to speak at this meeting. I am very happy. It is rare to have the opportunity to meet and meet the leaders. Through my report, I hope the leaders can leave a little impression on Xiao Nan. At the same time, I am ashamed that I have only done some ordinary things and have no touching achievements. Now I will briefly report my work to the leader. Please criticize and correct any mistakes.

I am an ordinary agronomist, party member, a senior agronomist in higher vocational colleges. I am 54 years old and now I am the chief agronomist of Xiaonan Agricultural Bureau. The experience is very simple, only related to the word "farmer": the son of a farmer; Graduated from high school and worked as a farmer for 5 years; 1978 was admitted to Xiaogan agricultural school; 1980 joined the work and changed four units successively, all of which are "agriculture".

Over the past 32 years, with the support of leaders at all levels and the help of my colleagues, I have done some due work for the sake of farmers' bumper harvest and agricultural development, which has been welcomed by farmers, affirmed by society and rewarded by superiors many times. He has undertaken more than 40 agricultural technology extension projects, all of which have successfully completed their tasks. At the same time, we also adhere to the road of independent innovation and carry out high-quality aromatic rice breeding. In the early 1990s, two high-quality rice varieties, Taizi Yuzhu and Taizi Yubo, were cultivated, both of which won the silver prize of the first China Agricultural Expo in 1992 and became the main varieties of Taizi rice in our city. Since the beginning of this century, E Wan 1 1, E Wan 15, E Wan 17, Late Japonica 505, Liang Guang You Xiang 66, Japonica Liangyou 5975, 0259S, E Jing You 775 and Japonica CMS line E Wan have been bred successively. All of them passed the provincial examination and approval, especially the successful breeding of first-class aromatic japonica rice E-Wan 17 and japonica Liangyou 5975, which filled the gaps of first-class aromatic japonica rice varieties and first-class all-aromatic hybrid japonica rice that were not cultivated independently in our province. Among them, Hubei Late 17 passed the examination and approval in 2006, and was identified as the main variety of our province for six consecutive years, and was identified as the "main variety" (i.e. the control variety) of late japonica varieties innovation in our province in the future. Liangguang Youxiang 66, bred in February this year, is honored to be a super aromatic rice approved by the Ministry of Agriculture (only this variety in Hubei won the Super Rice Award this year). Recently, a series of high-quality new aromatic rice varieties with early, middle and late rice varieties, indica rice varieties, japonica rice varieties and glutinous rice varieties have been cultivated. At present, four varieties have passed provincial or national regional tests, and nine varieties are participating in national and provincial regional tests, which are expected to pass the examination and approval one after another and be used in production. It also has nearly ten thousand copies of aromatic rice breeding materials, which has laid a good foundation for continuing to cultivate better aromatic rice varieties in the future. In terms of planting techniques, methods such as "fertilizer-saving and chemical-controlled seedling raising of double-cropping late rice", "Hubei Agricultural Science" 199 16, "simple inoculation method for identification of resistance to bacterial blight" and "China Agricultural Technology Extension" 198 were developed. In recent years, in order to adapt to the adjustment of agricultural structure and increase farmers' income, our bureau has successfully introduced a series of new varieties of high-quality and efficient cash crops, such as fresh sweet waxy corn, vegetable soybean, extra-early-maturing potato, seedless watermelon, strawberry, Japanese sweet persimmon, yard loquat and Toona sinensis. He published 42 scientific articles in national and provincial magazines and co-authored 3 books. The above-mentioned new technologies and varieties have been popularized and applied for more than 7 million mu, increasing farmers' income by more than 700 million yuan.

The superior organization did not forget me and gave me a series of honors. 20 15 12 was awarded the title of national grain producer by the State Council; 199 1 year won the provincial model worker; In 2003 and 2006, he won the provincial excellent party member twice; In 2004, he was awarded "National Advanced Individual in Agricultural Technology Extension" and "Provincial Model Civil Servant" by the Ministry of Agriculture. In February 2009, he won the first outstanding talent nomination award in Xiaogan; In September 2009, he was rated as a civil servant who was satisfied with the people of Hubei "; In June 2009, he was rated as one of the top 100 good people in China by China Civilization Network. Looking back on my work, every progress should be attributed to the cultivation of superiors, the support of leaders, the help of colleagues and the cooperation of farmers' friends. Here, I would like to thank the leaders of the Provincial Department of Agriculture for their consistent strong support to me and my unit. They don't think that I am from a humble background and have a shallow qualification. They all actively support me in breeding new varieties of aromatic rice, which ensures the continuity of my breeding and scientific research. To this end, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my high respect and sincere thanks to the leaders of the Agriculture Department.

Engaged in agricultural technology work, my initial experience mainly has four points, namely, peace of mind, sincerity, modesty and purity of heart.

First, work with peace of mind.

Since I joined the work, I have never left the "Qingshui Yamen" of agriculture for a day. Being in the mud, looking at the long mu, although "sweaty, thin and sick", I have no regrets and never moved my heart to help farmers. The reasons are as follows: First, I come from a family that has been farming and weaving for generations, and I have been interested in growing melons and beans since I was a child. I have forged an indissoluble bond with the countryside, agriculture and farmers. It is only natural for the farmers' sons to study agronomy and serve them. There is no need to aim high and seek another job. For this reason, I once wrote a doggerel entitled "The Feeling of Gua Tian": A quality farmer is a melon vine, which will be exposed to rain every day for life. Not for the flowers of leaves, I would like to accompany the grain to pay for all beings. Secondly, in my work practice, I learned that farmers urgently need science and technology, especially the repeated agricultural disasters and the difficulty in selling agricultural products, which deeply shocked my soul and inspired my sense of responsibility to help farmers. The demand of farmers is the best choice in my life. Thirdly, the touching stories of many agronomists and the spirit of the older generation of agricultural workers set an example inspired me and strengthened my belief in farming. So my life orientation is simple: I will stick to the word "agriculture" and never have a second child.

I was infected with schistosomiasis four times because of working in rice fields for a long time. Every time the resident told me not to get sick again. My family also advised me to give up farming, but my heart was very contradictory. If you work in rice and don't go into the water, how can you do experiments and popularize them? When you reach the water, you will inevitably feel it again. On the issue of going into the water and not going into the water, although there are ideological contradictions, my strong sense of responsibility made me forget the danger of going into the water again, so I resolutely chose the former. I also feel that with the growth of age, my condition is getting worse every time I get sick again. Because each treatment is not timely, it causes cholecystitis, gastric ulcer and chronic colitis. For more than ten years, I can only be a vegetarian and dare not touch meat. Cooking without oil, even dare not eat vegetable oil. Everyone joked with me and said that I was the director of "Three Whites": eating white rice, swallowing Chinese cabbage and drinking boiled water. My family and colleagues are always worried about my health and advise me to pay more attention. I don't know the basic truth that health is the capital of revolution. Just because of the nature of my work, I have to do this, and I don't care much, because "the young don't work hard, and the old are sad." But I've been a vegetarian for many years, and I feel fine these years. Pay attention to your life, I don't think there will be any big problems.

At the crossroads of my life, I had several good opportunities to change careers, but I never moved away. 1985 Xiaogan city is building a new concentrated feed factory, and a young comrade is needed to take charge of the laboratory work. Before taking office, he was sent to Huazhong Normal University to study English for two years, then went abroad for training for one year, and then came back to work. At that time, the leader of the former municipal government in charge of the project decided to go by me. It was a godsend to others, but I hesitated. I know this step means a complete career change. I thought and thought, and finally decided: "The original intention will not change." 1986, the Land Bureau and the Agricultural Bureau were separated, and the leaders of the Bureau asked for my advice. Do you want to go to the Land Bureau? I also know that the Land Bureau is definitely superior to the Agriculture Bureau. You can go with a nod. I thought for a moment, or because the word "agriculture" was too affectionate and reluctant, so I shook my head at the leader and decided to leave the farm gate.

Second, do things in good faith

I insist on taking agricultural technology popularization and breeding scientific research as my lifelong career, and strive to achieve three points: first, I sincerely treat farmers as parents, second, I sincerely care for seeds, and third, I sincerely treat myself as farmers.

Farmers are often unwilling to accept new varieties and technologies for fear of failure. In order to dispel their concerns, my solution is two words: "Sincerity." Provide farmers with absolutely reliable technology to increase production and income. Responsible for farmers, I have a steelyard in my heart, which is a new thing I promote. If it can be used by parents, it can be used by every farmer, otherwise don't promote it rashly, that is, treat farmers as parents. In order to gain the trust of farmers, my specific methods are as follows: First, put down your airs and make friends with farmers. I try to get rid of such chores as "three long and four accompanying" (that is, telling long stories and writing long articles, sitting with others at long meetings and receptions, talking to them, eating with them and playing with them), and try to steal some leisure, squeeze in some time, go for a walk in the farmhouse and see the fields. Everywhere I go, I take the initiative to talk to farmers, give on-site guidance and tell them how to contact me. Over the years, I have made more than 2,000 friends from farmers, many of whom have kept in touch with me. They are very helpful for me to promote new varieties and new technologies. For example, Ding in Zhendaqiao Village, Pengdu Bridge in Xiaocang Village and Li in Wolong Township. And I have been in contact for more than 20 years. They took the lead in applying many of my varieties. The second is responsive and sincere service. At every agricultural technology training meeting, I promised "two whatevers". Any farmer who wants to meet me for help, as long as he calls in advance to make an appointment, I am willing to meet and talk to help solve the problem; Every farmer who walks into my office, I send a small amount of seeds and seedlings to them for trial planting, and then develop after success. "Two whatevers" I have never broken my word. Every year, nearly 100 farmers come to me for help in purchasing seeds and seedlings and face-to-face consultation. Almost every day, farmers call for advice. I took the trouble to answer patiently and deal with them one by one. More than 3,000 kilograms of seeds are given free of charge every year. For example, Zhang Ziqiang of Xinpu Pailou Village grows fresh waxy corn seeds every year. Because Xiaogan didn't have them, I helped him get them from other places. Even if it is a small matter, I will take it seriously. For example, Hu Zifeng, a farmer in Chen Mao, wants a pair of rubber shoes for farmland, which are only available in Hainan Island. He just said it casually, but half a year later, I brought him a pair from Hainan. He said gratefully, "Soup, I forgot this a long time ago, and you really brought it back to me. This little thing is too much trouble for you. I am really sorry! "

It's my idea to treat farmers as parents, but I'm sorry I didn't take enough care of my biological parents. I remember that in July of 199 1, a flood destroyed more than mu of seedlings in our area 10000, leaving about 60000 mu of fields without seedlings. In order to provide disaster relief, the government organized disaster relief commandos. I am a member of the team. It happened that my old mother was suffering from kidney calculi and was lying in the hospital preparing for surgery. Are you going to rescue the disaster or nurse your mother? My mother put up with hardships and raised my son. At the critical moment of her life and death, I left without a trace of filial piety. What kind of good son is this? But considering so many people in the disaster area, I need to help them solve their technical problems. At the critical moment, what kind of expert am I if I don't reveal my true colors? When there is a contradiction between national affairs and family affairs, I definitely choose the former, preferring to be an unfilial son rather than an escaped slave. On the day of my mother's operation, I asked my lover to take care of me, but I went to the disaster area myself.

(2) truly care for seeds.

As a deputy director, it should be said that it is relatively easy. There is a director to worry about, and a section chief to do things, as long as you talk. My superiors only asked me to do a good job in promotion and not to engage in breeding research. But in practice, I see that farmers are most interested in and need new varieties. It is my bounden duty to meet the needs of farmers. So while doing a good job in promotion, I also "want" a heavy burden: breeding and scientific research. This challenge is more than 30 years. Breeding is not easy. It takes at least 8 years from hybridization to breeding stable varieties, even if it is added to Hainan, it will take 4 years. It took a long time and a lot of money, which was extremely difficult, but I never gave up. I overcame all difficulties and begged for money everywhere; Like migratory birds, chasing the sun, carrying seeds, breeding species in the south and breeding species in the north; Like caressing a baby, I do all kinds of Xin Wei every day for fear of making any mistakes. Until today. When my breed performs well, I am also very happy. Last year, Farmers' Week in Zhendaqiao Village of our district planted one of my fragrant rice varieties, covering an area of ***260 mu, with an increase of more than 40,000 yuan over the previous year. He is very happy, very grateful to me, and I am very happy. To this end, I also made a jingle: autumn without borders, dad is fragrant and fragrant. The rice is rich and good, and the rice dad is surging.

Before 2002, my main business was promotion, followed by breeding. Rice blooms at noon. In order to facilitate hybridization and not delay some administrative affairs, I will plant parent materials on the roof, sometimes reaching more than 200 pots, and need to water them every day. After work at noon, everyone else went home, but I went to the roof to do hybridization. Especially in dog days, the roof is hot enough to steam steamed buns, and after working for several hours, you are sweating like jumping into the water. In order to do hybridization, I have to delete the nap "program" every July, August and September, so I can't have lunch on time.

After 2002, I specialized in breeding research. In the Institute of Agricultural Sciences of the Third Academy of Military Sciences, I enclosed the 10 mu experimental field with iron nets, and there were more than 10,000 copies of various breeding materials. From numbering, seed soaking to transplanting maturity, each copy has to be made by yourself, seen by yourself and dazzled by yourself. There are four most difficult things: first, new seeds brought back from Hainan must be shelled and sown to break dormancy. Each material is peeled off/kloc-more than 0/00 pieces, and blood is often peeled off with fingers. The second is to identify the fragrance of rice. Generally, breeders reproduce with their eyes and hands. Besides, I also use smell and taste to distinguish the fragrance of rice. Because there is no accurate instrument to detect fragrance at present, only the breeder can feel it. I am most sensitive to fragrance in the morning, and I have to get up at 5 o'clock every day to distinguish the fragrance. Too much material, long time, has a great influence on the body. The third is to isolate seed production with film fences in the field. Every time I encounter strong wind and heavy rain, I don't stay indoors, but run to the fields, afraid that the wind and rain will blow down the enclosure, so as to avoid cross-pollination and "private life", and I am often drenched like a drowned rat, so it is common to catch a cold in the rain. The fourth is to clear the seeds before sowing. More than 10,000 seeds were bagged and registered, and it took more than 10 days and nights. In addition, people have to inhale a lot of dust on seeds when they are indoors. Every time I clean seeds, I cough constantly. This job is very harmful to my health.

For breeding, I went to Guangxi more than ten times in autumn and Hainan more than twenty times in winter, so I can't reunite with my family during the Spring Festival. In order to reproduce, I postponed the age of marriage to thirty; In order to breed, I accompany all holidays and spare time without any overtime pay. In order to breed, I gave up many opportunities to change careers and lost many business opportunities to make money; I have a lot of questions about breeding; What I regret most about upbringing is that I relaxed the cultivation of my son. To tell the truth, I spent many times more energy on breeding than on Foer. For this reason, I wrote two doggerels to encourage myself: a feeling of reproduction, it is difficult to reproduce the world, and the seedlings are happy at their knees. When the rice smells sweet, you feel comfortable. The second feeling of breeding is that the age fades day by day, and the seedlings breed from south to north. What are your career regrets? The harvest in the world is very high. )

My work finally caught the attention of my superiors. On June 8th, 2007, Liu Youfan, the former vice governor, led the heads of relevant departments directly under the provincial government to inspect my breeding base on the spot, and gave a high evaluation, and held a special meeting to support the project (see the minutes of the special meeting of the provincial government 1 13, 2007 for details). The leaders of the Provincial Department of Agriculture also attached great importance to my fragrant rice breeding work, and gave support through many special studies and on-site office work. The Provincial Agricultural Technology Extension Station cooperated with our bureau to set up the Hubei Provincial High-quality Rice R&D Center, and hired me as the chief breeding expert, specializing in the breeding of aromatic hybrid rice, and the base was located in the Agricultural Research Institute of our bureau. Later, Hubei Zhongxiang Rice Industry Co., Ltd. also joined my breeding research. After all, my work has been affirmed by the society, and I have not been relieved after so many years of self-suffering.

(3) Work hard and treat yourself as a farmer.

In the eyes of ordinary people, a deputy director should be an official with a fat wife in vain, but I stand in front of everyone as a black and thin person (I'm really sorry), not a farmer who looks like a farmer. It doesn't matter. Standing among farmers is easier to get close to farmers, regardless of you and me. I am engaged in agricultural work, especially field breeding. There is a lot of farm work to do by yourself. I must clean up the "director flavor", simply be a farmer, be a down-to-earth person like a farmer, and work hard.

I have been in charge of agricultural technology business for more than ten years. It is reasonable to say that it is not an exaggeration to equip me with a special car to go to the countryside, but the unit conditions are limited and there is only one car. If I don't go to the countryside because I don't have a car, then I, an expert, will have to "stay at home exclusively" and do nothing. Therefore, I have developed the habit of rarely taking a special car, riding a bike nearby and hitchhiking in the distance. Without a car, I can help myself and get close to farmers and provincial units, killing two birds with one stone. In the past 30 years, I have worn out four bicycles and changed countless tires. Until the year before last, the unit gave me a motorcycle.

Over time, my living habits have also been honed like a farmer, "work at sunrise and return at sunset." Sleep when you are tired, and work when you wake up. There are no rules for city people to go to work, and there is no habit of taking long holidays and short breaks. During the Spring Festival holiday, I will plant saplings in Hainan. During the May Day holiday, I will sow mid-season rice and plant early rice in Xiaogan. During the National Day holiday, I will be busy harvesting seeds in autumn and then go to Hainan. In fact, the three long holidays are the golden period of my highest work efficiency, because they are all holidays, and I am the quietest, without meetings and receptions. Going to the countryside to farm about 300 days a year is several times longer than a pure farmer (farmers don't farm in winter, I have to go to Hainan to farm).

Breeding in Hainan, the conditions are more difficult. Live in a farmer's simple house, do farm work with your own hands, and eat and drink by yourself. Go to the field at six in the morning, take food to the field at noon, and be too busy to go home at night because of mosquito bites. Because Hainan plants early, middle and late rice in one season, and time is tight, it is necessary to scramble for seeds day and night. So March to April in Hainan is my busiest time every year. During this time, Xiaogan is the most beautiful season with birds and flowers, but I am busy in a foreign land and miss the beautiful spring scenery in my hometown every year. After a year of fate, it is natural to cherish spring. Last year in Hainan, I also wrote a doggerel to encourage myself: "Spring is a good season, but I have no intention to enjoy it every year." Spring has gone again, and my hair has turned white. My wife blamed my family for leaving me alone, and my son's studies were neglected several times. What are you up to? When the farmers are satisfied, I feel comfortable! "

Third, learn art with an open mind.

It takes an anvil to strike while the iron is hot. I know very well that if we want to earn more profits for farmers and serve them well, we must master excellent skills. I am a technical secondary school student, with a low professional starting point, but I am not ashamed of my diploma and left my studies. I think: life is not afraid of low diploma, but of low level in old age and even lower ability; As long as you keep learning with an open mind, how can you not be conceited? In order to improve my technical level, I insist on self-study. First, continue to apply for correspondence study in colleges and universities. From 65438 to 0985, I entered the Correspondence College of Huazhong Agricultural University at my own expense. After hard self-study, I got the diploma of Agricultural College three years later. 1998 I never lost my mind, and applied for the self-taught adult agriculture undergraduate major of Huazhong Agricultural University. It is more difficult and demanding to participate in undergraduate study, especially it is not easy to reach Band 4. In order to overcome the difficulties such as poor memory and no English communication environment, I always remember when I have time. Day after day, three years have passed. Although my weight has dropped and my eyesight has declined, the difficulties have been overcome. I passed CET-4 and got my undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree. The second is to subscribe to newspapers and magazines to keep abreast of agricultural development trends. Although the salary is not high, I have never been stingy in subscribing to newspapers and magazines. I spend more than 500 yuan to subscribe to 10 newspapers and magazines every year, from which I have learned a lot. The third is to consult with peer experts. Whenever I am on a business trip, I always go to the Agricultural Research Institute. On the one hand, know the latest scientific research results, on the other hand, ask scientific and technological experts to answer the problems encountered in production. The fourth is to learn from farmers. Every time you go to the countryside, you should have a cordial exchange with farmers and pay attention to absorbing beneficial "nutrition" from them. I can help farmers, and farmers can also help me. It is very important to learn from them what is not in books. Fifth, pay attention to summary and accumulation. For more than 30 years, I have abided by six precepts: quitting smoking and drinking, playing chess, gambling, fighting landlords and bragging. I have formed the habit of studying with books whenever I have time. I made 40 Yu Ben's reading notes with more than 600,000 words. I also used the evening time to write some scientific and technological articles to guide agricultural production, and accumulated more than 300 technical articles, 42 of which were published in provincial and national journals. At the end of each year, data are filed, classified and bound for easy reference. I personally bound more than 200 technical files, about 30 million words, which became an important agricultural literature in our region.

Fourth, the human nature of a pure heart.

In order to reproduce, I didn't record how many holidays I missed and how many nights I stayed up. The most typical thing is that I have never taken a day off for three long holidays every year, and I have not received any overtime pay. Because I asked for it.

My professional title is Gao Zheng, in charge of business, engaged in breeding research and taking technical risks, so I can get the salary of Gao Zheng agronomist. However, there is a "title" of deputy director, which belongs to the administrative department. He can only get a deputy bureau-level salary, and the average monthly salary is less than that of 500 yuan. After 15, he received less than 90,000 yuan, but I have never calculated the loss account with the organization. Still complain silently, carry the burden on your shoulders and do your duty.

I don't trust a lot of things I deserve. 1992 I cultivated two high-quality rice varieties, both of which won the silver prize in China Agricultural Expo. It turns out that the Xiaogan Municipal Government awarded me 4000 yuan, which is justified. I didn't do this, but gave all the money to the unit finance as research funds. Because the work is done by everyone, the bonus should also belong to the collective. In 2004, E Night 15 was bought out by a seed company for120,000 yuan. I didn't share the money, but I still kept it for research funding.

In 2000, my wife was laid off and supported her family on her own salary. In consideration of my practical difficulties, Director Liu of the unit specially wanted to arrange something for my wife, but I politely declined. I said: I can arrange for my wife to be laid off. What about so many laid-off people? As a deputy director, I will never be an exception. Later, my lover found a sports lottery shop to help others sell lottery tickets and increase income for the family.

I have made some achievements in breeding. Many big companies came to me with an annual salary of 565,438+10,000 yuan, asking me to bring breeding materials, but I was not tempted, because I am party member and must abide by the party discipline. How can I accept others' employment at will during my employment? What's more, this land raised me! It is this unit that supports me! How can I harm the interests of the unit because of a little immediate interest? What should I do if I run away as a traitor?

I despise honor. I don't want to seek fame or get rich. What's the use? What's the pity without it? I have never fought for honor. Provincial and ministerial advanced workers 1997 and 1999 were selected twice, and the general branch of the bureau agreed to submit them to me, and I gave them to young comrades. I think honor should not be judged by superiors, but by farmers. Only more farmers have applied my technology, increased their income and laughed. This is my most glorious thing!

In short, over the past 30 years, I have done some work in agricultural technology and made some achievements. The party and people have not forgotten me and have given me many honors. I am determined to further strengthen my study, work hard, carry forward the glorious tradition of serving the people wholeheartedly, keep in mind the "two musts" and practice the "Theory of Three Represents". Always keep your oath: I will not hesitate to shed sweat and soil, but I will ask for fragrant rice everywhere.
