Winter is certainly much colder than in the south of the Yangtze River, but it is much colder than in the northeast. The coldest is about ten degrees below zero. Mostly between minus one and ten degrees.

Pollution was very heavy in the past few years, but has gotten much better in recent years. Blue skies and white clouds are also common. The impact on people is not as severe as in previous years. The same goes for air.

There is nothing wrong with the water quality, just don’t drink raw water.

There is food from all over the world, just choose rice, pasta, etc. from various restaurants. The specialty food is beef noodles. Dry steamed buns are a specialty of Xi'an. It is also available in Lanzhou, but it is not mainstream.

Finally, although Lanzhou is not as prosperous as Beijing and Shanghai, and not as beautiful as Jiangnan, it is generally okay. Binhe Road, Pedestrian Street, Wangfujing, etc. also have a modern flavor. It’s good to come and taste it.
