Three years ago, when I was listening to Mr. Toby Lin's live lecture on "Introduction to China Painting and Calligraphy", I met Mr. Toby Lin and later became a student in Xuan Tong. I am here to share my feelings, hoping to help you.

I remember at the beginning of the live broadcast, Teacher Toby Lin said that the introduction of calligraphy was a false proposition. We started a journey, sublimated a mountain and a sea, stepped into different doors and saw different scenery. What you think is the end of your life may have just begun. Hearing this, I have a deep understanding. I think I have a good relationship with my teacher. When I caught up with Xuan Tong's enrollment, I signed up for a calligraphy class.

When Xuan Tong finished the fifth-order calligraphy class, he felt that he had basically mastered the freedom of using a pen, and the copying of various calligraphy styles could reach the level of charting, but it must be based on doing homework on time and practicing more. After finishing the fifth-order course, new difficulties are in front of us. It seems that there is no introduction at all, and I am still in the stage of writing my own handy words from scratch. This was something that bothered me during that time, but at the same time, I also practiced many methods, such as writing traditional Chinese characters by hand, concentrating on reading and refining a calligrapher's font, exploring the structure and rules of using a pen, changing from practicing calligraphy to imitating writing, and then thinking about my originality. You see, I, a student who has studied calligraphy for several years, am also starting over.

Teacher Toby Lin also said that it is difficult for people to be completely indifferent to gains and losses. Gains and losses are the result, not the cause. Let's focus on the practice process and see what we have done for a long time, and then we will find our own leisurely rhythm. The more people practice, the more real they become. Doing things with knowledge and action can make us neither pessimistic nor optimistic, discouraged nor complacent, so that we can be down-to-earth and not anxious.
