I think serving every retired soldier and solving difficulties for the parties is the best way to serve the people.

Not long ago, President Xi made important instructions on Comrade Zhang Fuqing's advanced deeds, spoke highly of Zhang Fuqing's touching deeds of "sticking to his original heart all his life and not changing his true colors", praised him as "an example for army officers and soldiers and retired soldiers to learn", and asked us to "actively carry forward the spirit of dedication and unite a powerful force for unity and struggle in the new era". The post is changing and the identity is changing, but Zhang Fuqing's true colors of loyalty to the Party, sharing worries for the Party and benefiting the people have never changed. He is a hero of the people, but he never makes any demands on the organization. His heart is "very small" and he can hardly control himself;

After working for 25 years and joining the Party 17 years, my deepest feeling is that seriousness and dedication are the foundation of success. When we first joined the Veterans Affairs Bureau, faced with completely unfamiliar fields, completely unfamiliar colleagues, countless customers, and one sharp problem after another, under the leadership of Director Yang, we burned our bridges and faced difficulties. Sometimes, in order to understand a preferential resettlement policy, we will immediately call everyone together to study, seriously study, analyze sentence by sentence, discuss in depth, and find a solution to the problem;

Sometimes, in order to straighten out a work flow, we will immediately hold a work meeting to analyze the causes of problems, simplify the work flow and improve work efficiency according to the needs of service veterans and clients.

What impressed me the most was a retired soldier named xx. For many years, he has been demanding that he be recognized as a retired soldier and enjoy relevant treatment. The day after our bureau was listed, he came to us. He was very excited. Instead of looking for staff, he went directly to the director to reflect the problem. Director Yang received him in the office with a strong accent, which sounded very difficult. While carefully recording, Director Yang repeatedly asked to confirm whether his records were correct. Xx, a retired soldier, said that the troops he served in Sichuan shouldered the task of counterinsurgency. Many comrades-in-arms recognized the status of participating in the war and enjoyed relevant treatment. They also provided written proof materials of many comrades-in-arms, and asked to organize investigation and determination. For more than eight years, he went to the Civil Affairs Bureau for identification countless times, but the organization only asked me to provide materials and did not come forward to investigate, saying that I was not a retired person who participated in the war, and I refused to accept it. According to the materials provided by xx and the situation of his comrades-in-arms, Director Yang personally visited six comrades-in-arms of xx in one and a half days, including the old company commander of xx and his classmates. After careful investigation and visit, it was confirmed that the troops he served in did have counter-insurgency tasks, but they were not combat troops recognized by superiors, and his comrades did not enjoy the treatment of combatants. In the face of a large number of facts, Director Yang influenced xx with his pragmatic work style and rigorous attitude. As a result, the petitioners for many years became new friends of Director Yang, and xx gave Director Yang a thumbs-up and said that for so many years, I have been asking for an organizational investigation, but all failed. Now I have met a good cadre like you. Although my request has not been fulfilled, I am convinced.

Since the establishment of the Veterans Affairs Bureau, we can't remember exactly how many visiting veterans and clients we have received, but no matter who comes, we will first send a smile, pour a cup of hot water, take out a notebook, listen to their voices patiently, record their difficulties sincerely, carefully sort out their demands and solve their difficulties wholeheartedly. Since the establishment of the Bureau of Veterans Affairs in Jiangxia District for more than eight months, three thick guest books have recorded the voices and calls of countless veterans and clients, as well as the conscientious working attitude and pragmatic work style of all cadres and workers of the Bureau of Veterans Affairs.

Soldiers' duty is to dare to show their swords at critical moments, and party member's duty is to face difficulties in the face of urgent and dangerous tasks. Zhang Fuqing is a model forged in the baptism of war and an outstanding representative of retired soldiers.
