About skiing

Shennongjia has a high altitude, broad vision, numerous snow trails, rich tourism resources and unique and charming ice and snow tourism resources. Shennongjia Ski Resort was built in 2004 in response to the concept of "North Snow and South Exhibition" of the State Sports General Administration. It is located in Shennongjia National Forest Park, Hubei Province, 30 kilometers away from Muyu Provincial Tourist Resort. It is the first largest and most functional ski resort in Central China, integrating Fu Na with natural snow. The planned total investment is 90 million yuan, and the first phase of the project has completed an investment of 25 million yuan, which can accommodate 3,000 people for ice and snow amusement activities at the same time. There are junior, middle and senior snow trails, equipped with large and small traction ropeways, imported Fu Na system, snow pressing equipment, snowmobiles, ski equipment. The ski reception center covers an area of 3,000 square meters and has a ski room, a coffee shop, a fast-food restaurant, a ski shop, a medical emergency room and a ski school. And employ well-known professional ski instructors in China to serve beginners. Skiing, roller skating, snowmobiling, sheep sledding, sledding, snowmobiling and other snow projects have been set up. Its completion marks the transformation of Shennongjia tourism from sightseeing to holiday.

As an important measure of the concept of "snow in the north and show in the south" of the State Sports General Administration, Shennongjia Ski Resort has unique resource advantages. Because the winter temperature in northern China is extremely low, it is not conducive to skiing. It is not convenient for athletes to do activities when they wear too much, and it is easy to get frostbite when they wear too little. However, Shennongjia has a suitable climate and abundant snow, and the comprehensive advantages of "mountain, snow, water, sky, road and scientific research" are obvious. The special latitude, temperature, humidity, altitude and other conditions make the snow quality of Shennongjia Ski Resort close to the European Alps, which is very suitable for training and field skiing. The average monthly temperature of this tourist ski resort is -4 in winter, the annual snow time is about 150 days, and the total area is about 10000 square meters. It has the advantages of good snow quality, sufficient snow amount and suitable climate.

At present, there are 8 ski resorts (high, middle and third grade) in Xueyuan, with a total length of 4000m. Among them, the most challenging advanced ski run is 980 meters long, with a vertical drop of 280 meters, a maximum slope of 30 degrees and an average slope of 15 degrees; The primary track designed for beginners who experience skiing for the first time has a total length of more than 200 meters and an average slope of 6-8 degrees. In order to meet the needs of snowboarders, the ski resort has also set up a snowboarding park, where you can enjoy the wonderful experience of snowboarding synchronized with the world. The ski resort has 3 large towing ropeways and 3 ordinary towing ropeways, with an hourly transportation capacity of 2,000 people, 3,000 sets of snow entertainment equipment and more than 20 professional coaches.
