Use your heart and time to water the most beautiful roses.

I am often afraid of choosing a career as a teacher, because when faced with the responsibility of educating students, I am always ashamed that I am not doing well enough. Today's students meet me who is still immature, and many of their needs are beyond my ability to meet. Therefore, I dare not take it lightly. I hope I can make progress and let them grow as much as possible.

Whenever I feel depressed, I will be greatly encouraged to learn the methods summarized by teachers who already have a lot of effective teaching experience. Elizabeth Bruricks, an American teacher I met recently, is an inspiring person. Is she a book or something? In order to reach and teach all the students, the Chinese translation of the title is "14 A good teacher conquers the underachievers". I don't think Ms. Brurix agrees with this translation. She doesn't want to conquer the students, but she is trying to get close to them.

Mr. Bruricks is a friendly, caring, strict, executive, active learner and reformer. In the face of any problems, she will not complain about people and things outside, will not feel that students are poor in ability, will not feel that parents are too indifferent, will not feel that the demands of superiors are unreasonable, and will not feel that she does not pay attention to the outside world. She is just trying to find out what she can do to improve the present situation. Anyone who is willing to change himself can really change his life and influence others.

Bruricks believes that we teachers should regard the challenges brought by students as opportunities to stimulate their growth.

The book uses two positive and negative examples of fourteen classes to illustrate how to become an efficient teacher, so that teachers and students can make progress together in a happy and harmonious learning atmosphere. Generally speaking, I was impressed by three things.

1

Good students are praised.

We all know this sentence, but in practice, we are either very stingy with the quantity and degree of praise, or we are attracted by students' questions and ignore the excavation of the bright spots. We are naturally very sensitive to problems, so that when only one person in the class violates the discipline, you only pay attention to that person who violates the discipline and ignore all the rest of the students who study hard.

Moreover, because most of us didn't grow up with admiration, we are not good at appreciating others at all, because we have never experienced the taste of being praised often.

If we accept this sentence, we can fully practice it, and practice makes perfect.

List the students' good behaviors, and then write the corresponding thank-you words to the students. Practice sentence by sentence in front of the mirror, with a smile, eyes looking straight, and a friendly and firm tone until you can say those sentences naturally at ordinary times.

At ordinary times, we should keep a high degree of attention, tap students' bright spots and give them appreciation in time.

Appreciation actually includes gratitude. We often say thank you to students, because we are teachers and influenced by the traditional concept of "elders".

Expressing gratitude to students is an appreciation of their positive behavior. Similarly, we can make a list of thanks for practicing. "Thank you for being so active in the discussion." "Thank you for sharing such a wonderful speech." "Thank you for telling us how to write this word." "Thank you for your efforts to keep the classroom clean and tidy."

Actively seek the support of parents. Most parents don't take the initiative to contact school teachers, and they don't know how to communicate with them. If you see the teacher on the phone, you will think that the child must be in trouble at school. Many parents almost never get a call from the teacher to convey the good news of their children.

Therefore, when students make a little progress or perform well, if teachers can take the initiative to inform parents, parents will gradually begin to actively cooperate with teachers' teaching work. Whether it is a telephone interview or a letter of commendation, teachers' positive feedback can benefit teachers, parents and students.

One day, we can easily find the bright spots of students and express them sincerely.

2

Teachers are role models for students.

We have always stressed that adults should set an example, because children can imitate adults and are very good at it. Children are a mirror of parents, but students are also a mirror of teachers. When students are always late, they attack others verbally and physically, don't finish their homework carefully, are impulsive and don't take the initiative. We need to reflect on whether we have not set an example.

Are we punctual in class, disciplined in class, respectful to students, fully prepared for work, clear in language expression, calm in the face of chaos, mature and rational in handling problems, neat and beautiful in writing, active and enthusiastic in doing things, good at discovering the advantages of others and often expressing gratitude to others?

Students are observing the teacher's every move all the time, and dozens of pairs of eyes are staring at our teacher, from clothes to body movements, from speech content to everything. When our words and deeds are different, students will immediately find out that they may think that this teacher is not trustworthy. When we really set an example, students' behavior began to become more positive.

Generally speaking, teachers should set an example for students first.

An orderly classroom atmosphere is very important.

A class lasts only 40 minutes. If you can't study efficiently in class, you may need to spend more time and energy later to make up for the loopholes caused by inefficient learning.

The chaotic classroom is like this: the teacher lectures above, and the students are busy below. The teacher criticized the students' mistakes and the class was interrupted. When a student interferes with the classroom, the teacher must stop and correct his behavior. A 40-minute class may actually take less than 20 minutes, while students may only listen to 10 minutes.

Orderly classroom, frequent interaction between teachers and students, learning-centered. Teachers actively provide help and guidance, and often ask students to express themselves. The classroom layout is organized and the students' behavior is standardized. Teachers will actively use skills to cultivate students' habit of observing norms.

To be orderly, teachers should be able to control their emotions and strictly implement classroom rules.

Explain, practice, explain and practice before implementing the classroom rules. In the implementation stage, the most important thing is consistency, strict implementation and uninterrupted. When the regulations were first published, students began to test whether teachers would strictly implement various norms. Only when teachers strictly implement and correct in time will they not lose their prestige in the eyes of students.

The hard part is not making rules, but implementing them. When implementing the rules, in the face of repeated violations by students, our patience and firmness determine whether the rules are effective in the end.

There is no shortcut to education. Only by spending time and energy to understand children and meet their needs can we water the most beautiful flowers. I think of a sentence in The Little Prince, "It is the time you spend on roses that makes them so precious." All the time we spend for students, all the difficulties, setbacks, self-doubt, sadness and hardships in the process will be compensated by the progress, trust, good memories and self-growth of teachers. We must persist.
