This is usually the case in the plot. I think many people around me can hear this story. It's very common, very common.

To be honest, being a mortician is a very unpopular job. No matter in Japan or other Asian countries, for the deceased, except his close relatives, others basically stay at a respectful distance from each other, thinking that it is a bit unlucky to encounter such a thing. I remember when I was a child, I happened to see the victim of a traffic accident and went home to say this sentence. My grandmother cooked two red eggs for me without saying anything. It is conceivable that when you want to work for the dead, people around you will really be afraid of you and then stay away from you, even in modern society. At the beginning of the film, the concept was poetically summed up, "Let your relatives walk the last journey with dignity and leave no regrets in the world" (I don't know if it is the credit of the subtitle group, I think this translation is really great). This concept misled the protagonist Kobayashi from the beginning. He thought it was a job about tourism, easy and well paid. When he came to the company he applied for, he saw several coffins in the office and was full of doubts. The female secretary who greeted him even secretly laughed at the dull job seeker. When the president (in fact, there are only two people in this company, a secretary and a president) came to the company to explain his work, Kobayashi seemed to flinch. As mentioned above, everyone will be scared when they hear about this job, and so will our hero. After a short hesitation, he accepted the job. I don't think he is completely embarrassed by life, but he also has a curiosity. This job, which many people disapprove of or even scoff at, has also brought him a lot of trouble. The first thing to bear is the incomprehension of his wife and friends. When they learned that Xiao Lin was engaged in this kind of work, his friends advised him to change to a real job. His wife Xiang Mei even left him for a while, although she didn't complain that her husband sold cello and took the initiative to move out of the apartment to live in a house in the country (I wonder here, what would I do if I had such a friend around me?
