Guidelines for watching the sunrise and sunset on Lushan Mountain

Lushan Mountain is a famous natural, cultural, historical and political mountain in China. The mountains, water, trees, clouds and mist, and sunrise in Mount Lushan are majestic and beautiful. Since ancient times, literati have been fond of Mount Lu, and have left a large number of beautiful poems praising Mount Lu. During the Anti-Japanese War and after the founding of New China, both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party conducted a large number of political activities here, leaving a rich historical footprint. Lushan Mountain is probably also the most romantic famous mountain in China. The movie "Lushan Love" connected it with love, and Lushan Mountain has become a household name ever since.

It is said that the scenery of Lushan Mountain is beautiful all year round. Even if you climb Mount Lushan in winter, you can still enjoy the wonderful snow scenery. Not to mention the beauty of the other three seasons.

The main tourist routes in Lushan are the east route and the west route. There is also a shorter line, let’s call it the Northern Line. There are not many scenic spots on the Northern Line, so the main lines are the east and west lines. If you have limited time, go to the east and west routes; if you have enough time, go to the northern route.

When visiting Lushan Mountain, it is especially recommended to buy a scenic sightseeing car pass. Because the scenic spots in Lushan are scattered and far apart, walking by foot will be very tiring and time-consuming. This pass costs 80 yuan, and you can ride for free within 7 days to any scenic spot open to the public in Lushan. Very convenient and free.

There was a girl in my roommate who did not buy a sightseeing bus pass. She lived in Lushan for five or six days and walked around every day. She was very tired. Later she regretted not buying a sightseeing bus pass.

And I am very glad that I bought the sightseeing bus pass. Ha ha! I like this feeling of freedom and freedom. Just imagine, for 80 yuan, you can buy a 7-day free trip to wherever you want in Lushan. What a wonderful feeling of freedom this is!

Of course, it is up to the individual to choose or not. I'm not a shill.

The east line is longer and the west line is shorter. In fact, you can swim either way first. But considering whether you want to watch the sunrise, you need to plan which route to take first. This article mainly talks about:

Like this time, I originally planned to stay in Lushan for two days and did not plan to watch the sunrise. When traveling, I generally follow the principle of "first difficult before easy, first far before close". The east route of Lushan Mountain is longer and the west route is shorter, so I chose to swim the east route on the first day and climbed Sandiequan, Wulaofeng, Hanpokou, etc., in preparation for the west route the next day.

As a result, when I went back in the evening, two other tourists in the same hotel were planning to watch the sunrise the next day, and I was moved again. So, the next day, I climbed the Wulaofeng again, climbing up and down the mountain again. I was exhausted to death.

So, it is recommended to plan whether to watch the sunrise. If you want to see the sunrise, arrange to swim with the east route; if you don’t see the sunrise, it doesn’t matter which route you swim first. My trip was equivalent to two days of traveling on the eastern route, and then I stayed in Lushan for one more day and three days in ***.

Of course, if you use mountain climbing purely for physical exercise, you are not limited to this suggestion.

Some people say that it is on the Jiao Peak of Hanpokou, but others say that it is blocked by Wulao Peak further east and is not the best place to watch the sunrise.

Basically, the best place to watch the sunrise in Lushan Mountain is the four peaks of Wulao Peak.

There is a large sloping rock there with a guardrail on the edge. To the east beyond the guardrail is an empty cliff valley between the mountains, which is very suitable for watching the sunrise. To the west of this big rock is the road leading to the third and fifth peaks, and across the road is a canteen. Those are the signs.

A sightseeing bus driver told me that there is actually another good place to watch the sunrise in Mount Lu, which is Xiaotianchi on the northern line. Later I went there. The location mentioned by the master is probably above Xiaotianchi, on the upper right side of Nona Tower. There is a pavilion, which is about the highest position of Xiaotianchi Mountain. It is probably there to watch the sunrise.

But I asked other local people in Lushan Mountain, and they said that watching the sunrise from here is still not ideal, and it will still be blocked by Wulao Peak.

In short, the four peaks of Wulaofeng are probably the best places to watch the sunrise. However, if you have time to stay in Lushan for a long time, you can also try several other places.

The sunrise time of Mount Lushan can be found online or at your hotel. In autumn now, the sunrise time in Lushan Mountain is around 5:30. If you want to watch the sunrise, you have to get up early and get to the best spot before sunrise.

Why is watching the sunrise a priority? It’s because you have to get up early.

I heard from the front desk staff at the youth hostel where I stayed that there is a WeChat group for hotel owners in Lushan. If the next day is sunny and the probability of seeing the sunrise is relatively high, the official will notify all hotels. Then, the hotels will count the tourists in their respective hotels who want to watch the sunrise the next day. In the early morning of the next day, the official will send a car to pick up the guests and take them to the vicinity of the sun viewing location.

Because the sightseeing bus with an 80 yuan pass only starts operating at 7 o'clock in the morning. Therefore, if you want to watch the sunrise, it is best to contact your hotel in advance.

If you don’t contact me in advance, you can only take a taxi or start walking to your destination in the middle of the night. If you just walk, it will probably take more than three hours. It’s still far and hard.

Moreover, when walking on a mountain road, the surrounding mountains and trees are dense, there are no street lights, it is dark and quiet, there are only the sounds of wind, water, and insects, which will scare the timid. Hotel staff and locals told us that there were wild boars in the mountains.

Because it was very late at night, we decided to go see the sunrise the next day. The official group did not post any news about the sunrise the next day, but based on the weather forecast, we decided to try our luck. . So I couldn't find a car, so I had to leave.

Originally, there were three of us, one man and two women, and we made an appointment to go hiking in the mountains to watch the sunrise in the early morning of the next day. But when we woke up early the next morning, the girl and I were debating whether to go or not. In the tangle, the male tourist left on his own.

Later, I remembered what the hotel owner said. He said that at sunrise, watching a red sun rising slowly from Poyang Lake and the changes in the surrounding sky, that scene was really... It's so beautiful and shocking! You will feel that all the hard work of getting up early and climbing mountains is worth it. So, the girl and I decided to go see the sun.

Fortunately, we came out of the hotel that day and walked on the road for a short time. Before we left the town, we encountered a car parked on the side of the road with its lights on. So we discussed it with him and sent us to Hanpokou Kazi for 50 yuan.

Then, we started walking towards Wulaofeng from Hanpokou. This saved us a long way. Even so, it took us nearly two hours to walk from Hanpokou to the fourth peak of Wulaofeng. Quite far.

Walking on the mountain road, I was still a little scared. I'm mainly afraid of wild boars. Along the way, the girl and I held hands tightly, singing, joking, and taking selfies to drive away fear. Afterwards, I felt that this was also a very rare and happy experience.

More than half of the year in Lushan Mountain is foggy, cloudy, and rainy, and the probability of seeing the sunrise is not high. Even if it is forecast to be sunny the next morning, the weather may turn cloudy and cloudy at any time.

Like the day we set out at 3:30 in the morning, the sky was still full of bright stars, but as we walked on the road, the weather became cloudy and sunny, and the stars appeared and disappeared. By the time we started climbing Wulao Peak, the mountains, trees, ground, and world were covered in wet clouds and rain.

As a result, we only saw two glimpses of the sunrise that day. The rest of the time, the red sun was obscured by thick fog.

It can be said that this was an unsuccessful sun-watching activity, but it was also a unique and interesting experience.

Regarding the sunrise viewing in Lushan Mountain, I have written an article before, titled, "Viewing the Sunrise in the Mist in Lushan Mountain".

In short, you must plan well to watch the sunrise, so that you can follow the scenic spots before and after without having to climb the mountain again. I didn't plan well, so I climbed Wulaofeng twice, which was repetitive and tiring.

Sunset has a different beauty and splendor than sunrise. It has a beauty that touches the soul and transcends the world. I once watched a perfect sunset on Mount Huashan, and the scenery was unforgettable.

On that day, after coming down from the east line, there were some people waiting to watch the sunset on the north and west side of Lulin Lake Bridge. I watched it for a while, and the effect of watching the sunset was pretty good.

Later, I rushed to Sanbaoshu, thinking about watching the sunset the next day, so I left there without watching the entire sunset process. I don’t know what the whole scene is like.

You can give it a try here. Or, check online or ask locals where is the most beautiful place to watch the sunset.

I really like watching the sunrise and sunset. When you go to every famous mountain, it is best to enjoy this magnificent scenery. Sunrise and sunset are probably the most spectacular and shocking natural phenomena that occur every day on earth. Watching the sunrise and sunset has a great cleansing and touching effect on our souls and lives.
