Xianglinsao Yue Opera 1

Modern drama. Based on Lu Xun's novel Blessing. The earliest performance was written by Nan Wei in 1946. Sister Xianglin was widowed when she was young, and her mother-in-law was forced by heavy debts. Encouraged by Wei, she was sold to He Laoliu, a mountain hunter, as her wife. Sister Xianglin didn't want to remarry, so she fled to Master Lu's house to help her. A few months later, she was discovered by Wei, who snatched her into the mountains to marry He Laoliu and gave birth to Amao after marriage.

Soon, he was poor and ill, and the child was taken away by the wolf. Sister Xianglin had to go back to help the Lu family. But because he was widowed twice, he was regarded as an ominous thing and deeply hated by his master.

Afraid of suffering after death, Sister Xianglin saved two years' salary, donated the threshold to the Land Temple and redeemed her "sin". But I was driven out by Lujia and became a beggar. Finally, on New Year's Eve, he fell dead in the snow. The play was performed by the Student Union 1946, directed by Nan Wei and starring Yuan Xuefen. This is regarded as a milestone in the reform of Yue Opera in the 1940s. 1948 was filmed. Lion Dance Records produced 1 a record of Yuan Xuefen and Zhang Guifeng singing the play. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Lu Xun's death, Shanghai Yue Theatre Art Troupe performed at the Popular Theatre on June 1956+1October19. The script was adapted by, Zhuang Zhi, Yuan Xuefen, directed by Chen Wu, arranged and directed by Guan Sen and Gu Daliang, sculpted by Chen Shaozhou and designed by Wu Bao. Yuan Xuefen plays Sister Xianglin, He Laoliu, Wei, Wu plays Fourth Master Lu and Lu Siniang. The play well embodies the spirit of Lu Xun's original work and successfully shapes the typical artistic image of Xianglinsao. The whole drama has a distinctive style of the times and a strong local flavor, but it is not "dramatic" in artistic treatment, and its content and form are not perfectly coordinated.

1962, the drama underwent another major artistic processing, with the structure changed from a curtain system to a curtain system, and the music was arranged by Ruzeng Liu, which further utilized the functions of singing, reading and acting of the opera to further embody the original spirit. For example, the original sentence "She didn't answer anything at that time, but she was very depressed. When she got up the next morning, there were big black circles around her eyes" was developed into a "kitchen" scene, which vividly reflected the inner pain of Xianglinsao who was tortured by theocracy. The actor's body movements absorbed and melted the traditional performers on the basis of life, and achieved the harmonious unity of life truth and artistic truth, which made the drama's ideological and artistic quality reach a higher level. Wei, an expert in the study of Lu Xun's novels, commented in the 6th issue of Shanghai Opera (1962): "The adaptation of Yue Opera Sister Xianglin has the opportunity to absorb the advantages of the film Blessing, and more importantly, to make use of the characteristics of drama as a form of expression. Judging from the recent performance effect, it really reflects the theme of the original work more profoundly than the movie "Blessing". "

1977, the Shanghai Yue Theatre was revised and processed again, and the rehearsal was co-performed by men and women. Yuan Xuefen and take turns to play Sister Xianglin, Shi Jihua as He Laoliu, Qin Guangyao as Wei, Xu Ruifa as Fourth Master Lu and Miss Lu Si.
