Later, the plague spread in Fengtai area, causing numerous deaths and injuries. Sun Simiao passed by Fengtai and learned that the epidemic situation here was very serious. He immediately taught people to refine Dan medicine and treated patients all the way, without missing a single one.

In this way, all patients in Fengtai were treated by Sun Simiao. People appreciated Sun Simiao's kindness, so they built Fengtai Wang Yao Temple. People who come to worship are in an endless stream, and the incense is very strong.

The Wang Yao Temple faces the east and the west, which means that Wang Yao is watching his hometown and motherland. Therefore, this place was renamed Kandan Village, which has a history of about 400 years.

The Hall of the King of Medicine adopts a single-eaves building structure with red walls and grey tiles, and Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, sits in the hall. Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, once commented on Sun Simiao:

April 28th of the lunar calendar is Wang Yao's birthday, and people from nearby Shili Baxiang will come to Wang Yao Temple to burn incense and pray. Many people also send their sons to temples as "jumping monks" and become disciples of the King of Medicine, hoping that their children can grow up healthily without diseases and disasters.

On Wang Yao's birthday, many women went to Niangniang Temple to "tie dolls". After they worship Wang Yao devoutly, they will take away a clay doll, which means they can have children earlier. This is the earliest temple fair in Wang Yao.

At the temple fair to commemorate Sun Simiao's birthday, people can not only buy daily necessities, but also taste local snacks and watch all kinds of wonderful entertainment activities, such as storytelling, singing opera, fragrant flower party, centennial tea party, lucky chance lion party, stilts, complications of China, five tigers and sticks, dry boat and yangko.

One of the most famous is the "Dibenzi Society", also known as the Taiping Flower Drum Society, which is a "royal society" specially sealed by the old Buddha of Cixi in the Qing Dynasty, and still retains the dragon flag awarded by Cixi.
