Thanksgiving Poems and Ancient Poems

Among the poems expressing gratitude in ancient times, the most famous is the five-character poem "Wandering Son" by Meng Jiao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. He is full of gratitude for his parents' kindness:

The mother used the needle and thread in her hand to make clothes for her long-distance son.

Before leaving, I had a stitch for fear that my son would come back late and his clothes would be damaged.

Who can say that a filial child like the weak can repay his mother's love like the sunshine in spring?

There is also a five-character poem "Su Xun's Family" by Li Bai, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, which appreciates the hospitality of the old peasant woman:

I stayed in a farmhouse at the foot of Wusong Mountain, and I felt very depressed and lonely.

The farmer is busier at work, and the girl next door is not afraid of the cold autumn night all night.

The owner of the house, the old woman, brought me rice, full of white rice like moonlight.

I can't help but feel ashamed to think of this. I helped Park Mu, and declined politely and dared not eat it.

In addition, the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi wrote a five-character ancient poem "Yan Shi Xiu Liu Sao", describing the kindness of the swallow's parents:

Yan Yan, don't be sad, but think about yourself.

Imagine yourself as a young day, flying high and carrying your mother.

At that time, my parents thought that I should know today.
