I. Channel requirements

1. In order to create convenient conditions for fire fighting and ensure building safety, circular fire lanes should be set around high-rise buildings in residential areas. When the circular lane is difficult, fire lanes can be set along the two long sides of the high-rise building.

2. When the length of the building along the street exceeds 150m or the total length exceeds 220m, a fire lane passing through the building shall be set at an appropriate position. In order to prevent the collapse of building components from affecting the normal operation of the fire lane in case of fire, the fire lane should be 5m away from the external wall and at least 3.5m wide, and the width of the fire lane should not be less than 4m. There should be no obstacles below 4m above the fire lane. And keep it open 24 hours a day.

3. The clear width and clear height of the fire lane crossing the high-rise building shall not be less than 4m. Between the fire lane and the residential high-rise building, there should be no trees or overhead pipelines that hinder the operation of climbing fire engines.

Township people's governments and urban sub-district offices shall guide, support and help villagers' committees and residents' committees to carry out mass fire control work. Villagers' committees and residents' committees shall determine fire safety administrators, organize the formulation of fire safety conventions and conduct fire safety inspections.

No unit or individual may damage, misappropriate or dismantle or stop fire control facilities and equipment without authorization, bury, occupy or block fire hydrants or occupy fire prevention spaces, occupy, block or close evacuation passages, safety exits and fire truck passages. Doors and windows in crowded places shall not be equipped with obstacles that affect escape and fire fighting and rescue.
