Does your unit have a canteen? Are there any special or alternative dishes?
There is a canteen. I eat in the canteen every day, but there is nothing special about it. They are all popular dishes, and of course there are no unusual ones. I guess not many people will try it.
I don’t like cooking, because not only is it troublesome to cook, but it’s also troublesome to wash the dishes and clean up the kitchen. There happens to be food in the canteen, so I eat in the canteen three times a day.
Breakfast is still very normal. The staple food usually includes steamed buns, fried dough sticks, occasionally steamed buns, fried rice and noodles. There are no stir-fried dishes, only a variety of small pickles, and then there are fried eggs, boiled eggs and tea eggs. Finally, there is porridge, rice porridge and cornmeal porridge. When there are fried dough sticks, there will be soy milk. My breakfast is very fixed, usually one fried egg, two steamed buns, one plate of pickles, one plate of peanuts, and two bowls of porridge. It's quite filling, enough to last until noon.
There are many kinds of dishes at noon, and they change frequently. The staple food is rice, steamed buns, pancakes, etc. Recently, it is egg soup, and then there are soy milk and porridge. As for the dishes, there are more varieties. Anyway, there will be fish, meat and vegetables every day, and they will be divided into hot dishes and cold dishes, and you can choose which one according to your own taste. I'm full at noon, so I just eat this meal every day. I haven't had enough after eating for several years, but some people say that the food in the cafeteria is too oily, and they will go out to eat, but I think it's good.
Dinner is much simpler, usually just leftover dishes from lunch. I feel like this, or maybe they are newly fried. Then the staple food is only rice, steamed buns, and a kind of porridge, usually cornmeal porridge. It is a bit difficult to eat well, but there is no problem in eating well.
As for the price, breakfast and dinner are slightly different depending on the dishes chosen, but lunch is a nominal charge, and other expenses are subsidized by the unit.
I think eating in the canteen saves you the trouble of having to think about what to eat every day, and it is safer and more secure than eating outside, which is good.
