Woye's talk

First of all, Zhuge Liang said that there is nothing wrong with these two sentences. Let's look at the differences between Zhuge Liang's two sentences from the perspective of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and literary analysis. It's really confusing to praise Yizhou in front and belittle Yizhou in the back. Isn't that contradictory?

In fact, as long as we look at the following points clearly, Zhuge Liang's contradictory ideas will be broken. First, time and environment are different. Second, the meaning is different.

First of all, let's talk about the different situations at this time. Zhuge Liang wrote "Longzhong Dui" when Liu Bei visited the cottage. Back to the 38th chapter of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang planned for Liu Bei:

Yizhou is a land of abundance, thousands of miles away. Therefore, Gaozu became emperor. Today, Liu Zhang is weak, and the people are rich, so they don't know how to save their shirts. Smart people think of smart people. It means: Yizhou is rich in mountains and rivers, fertile in land, incompetent in Liu Zhang, and easy to get in Yizhou.

But it should be noted that Liu Bei had no influence at that time. Just a while ago, I was assassinated by Cai Mao and others in Jingzhou and almost lost my life. Be defeated and flee, there is only a small town in Xinye. Cao Cao, the other two masters in the three-point world, destroyed Yuan Shao and pacified the north by the battle of Guandu in World War I. Sun Quan also inherited the inheritance laid by his father and brother Sun Ce, and led people to attack Liu Biao in order to seize Jingzhou. It can be said that Liu Bei's Xinye City, with Cao Cao in the north and Sun Quan and Liu Biao in the south, is a small force sandwiched between various forces.

At this time, Zhuge Liang put forward the strategy of entering Jingzhou and taking Xichuan. Just to lay a suitable base for Liu Bei. In order to seek development, Liu Biao's Jingzhou was caught between the forces of Sun Quan and Cao Cao at that time. Jingzhou was a place of four wars, which was not conducive to development. Then you can only go to Bingzhou, where Z water conservancy and people's livelihood facilities are complete, which is conducive to people's livelihood development. Secondly, the mountain road in Bingzhou is difficult to travel, which can delay and hinder the enemy's March for Liu Bei, who had less military forces at that time. Third, Liu Zhang is fatuous and doesn't treat people well. From these aspects, Bingzhou was the best base choice for Liu Bei at that time. No wonder Zhuge Liang called Yizhou a land of abundance.

Then why did Zhuge Liang suddenly say that "the benefits have been exhausted and the disadvantages have been exhausted" when he arrived at the "model"?

At that time, the Shu army was defeated in Yiling soon, and its troops suffered serious losses. At the same time, Jingzhou guarded by Guan Yu was also acquired by Soochow. That is to say, Wu Dong is located in the land of Jingchu to the east of the Yangtze River, and Cao Wei controls the northern region, while Shu Han is only in a corner, defending Yizhou, and its strength is weaker than that of Cao Wei and Wu Dong. What's more, after the death of Liu Bei and other generals, Liu Chan will be mediocre. Therefore, it is not surprising that Zhuge Liang said that Yizhou is tired in the "Model".

The reason why Zhuge Liang contradicted himself in "Long Zhong Dui" and "A Model" is that he didn't know the situation of Shu when he spoke. When Zhuge Liang wrote "Longzhong Dui", Liu Bei started from scratch and had no fixed base. Therefore, Yizhou at that time could be called the land of abundance, which was also true for Liu Bei at that time. At the time of making the model, the regime of Xishu had been stable, but it had just lost Jingzhou, a rich place. The Cao Wei and Dongwu forces in Mazhuang are relatively stronger than the soldiers, so they are naturally exhausted in Yizhou.

Second, apart from the different time, there is also a difference in meaning. Liu Bei is a wise general. With the help of Zhuge Liang, he conquered all directions and laid the foundation for this western Shu. Moreover, at that time, Liu Bei attached importance to the thatched cottage, and Zhuge Liang also praised Liu Bei when he wrote "Long Zhong Dui", which can be seen from the description of Zhuge Liang's coming out of the mountain in Chapter 38 of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Seeing his sincere intention, Kong Ming said, "The generals will not give way to each other and do their best." Zhuge Liang was more optimistic about Liu Bei at that time, so he said this and decided to go out with him. It is not surprising that Zhuge Liang called Yizhou a land of abundance at this time. Liu Bei is a wise man, and he managed it properly after taking Yizhou, so he called it the land of abundance.

On the other hand, Liu Chan is obviously less valued by Zhuge Liang. In Chapter 92 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang said to Liu Chan, "It is not advisable to belittle yourself, draw inferences from others, and take the road of loyal ministers." Visible, zhuge liang is advised Liu Chan. He knew that Liu Chan was not a wise master, but he was reluctant to leave because he loved Liu Bei. I took the opportunity to wake him up, hoping for a change. Liu Chan is fatuous and careless in political affairs, so it has its own unique intention to call Yizhou tired.

In fact, Zhuge Liang's two statements seem contradictory, but they are not. Both works contain their own unique language art and changing situations. In my opinion, Yizhou has always been the Yizhou of West Shu from "the land of abundance" to "Yizhou fatigue" and has not changed. What has changed is nothing more than Zhuge Liang's strategic vision and the level of the monarch.
