If you want Lithops to grow well, it is best to change the potting soil to one that is most suitable for its growth.

Soil selection: Because Lithops prefers loose and breathable neutral sandy loam, you can use a soil prepared by mixing 4 parts of leaf mold soil, 3 parts of eggshell powder, and 3 parts of river sand. Selection of flower pots: First of all, it is very fast. Secondly, the root system of Lithops is not developed, so the flower pot should not be too big or too deep. It is best to grow it in a small pot (8 to 10 cm).

2. Sufficient light

Light is the key to plant growth. In the cultivation method of Lithops, light is also extremely important. Lithops love light. During daily breeding, as long as the light is not particularly strong, let them bask in the sun as much as they want. This will help Lithops to photosynthesize and accumulate nutrients.

Note: Although the growth of Lithops requires sufficient light, it is afraid of strong light. In midsummer, it needs to be shaded, otherwise it will burn the plant and affect its growth.

3. Temperature, 15-25℃

Lithops prefers a warm environment, and the optimal growth temperature is 15-25℃. It is afraid of high temperatures and is not cold-tolerant. When it is high or very low, growth will be affected. So how to grow Lithops? Timely adjustment of temperature is also critical.

Note: When the temperature is above 33°C, Lithops will enter a dormant state; in addition, Lithops are not cold-tolerant, and they will also go into dormancy when the temperature is below 7°C, and will remain dormant below 4°C. Death from frostbite. Therefore, in winter, everyone should move the plant indoors in time and control the room temperature above 10°C so that it can survive the winter safely.

Note: Do not water the Lithops too much, because it is easy to rot in an excessively humid environment, and once the Lithops root rot, it will endanger the life of the plant; in addition, watering is generally Do it in the evening or early morning when the temperature is low to avoid affecting the plants due to changes in temperature and soil.

5. Fertilize once every half month

After talking about watering, let’s talk about fertilization. It is also very important in the cultivation method of Lithops. Lithospermum does not have high requirements for fertilizers. During its growing season, fertilize once every half month, so that it can bloom beautiful flowers.

Notes: First of all, when fertilizing Lithops, the fertilizer solution must not contaminate the spherical leaves; secondly, after Lithops bloom in autumn, fertilization should be suspended; finally, from February to April, Lithops peel. When the time comes, fertilization should be stopped to make the original old skin dry up as soon as possible. Apply compound fertilizer once after the plants have molted to promote healthy growth of young plants.
