What will happen to Zhanjiang Zhuhai Ship after it leaves active service?

Zhanjiang Ship will be handed over to Zhanjiang Museum after retiring from active service, and Zhuhai Ship will be used as the educational base of Chongqing Museum after retiring from active service. On August 28th, 2020, two warships, Zhanjiang Ship and Zhuhai Ship, officially retired from active service at a military port terminal in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, China. These two warships are the first generation guided missile destroyers independently designed and manufactured by China. They were officially commissioned in 1990 and 199 1 respectively. They are the first batch of modern destroyers with modern operational command function in China People's Navy.

Over the past 30 years, the stormy journey, stormy waves, armored ships and mobile officers and men have carried the dream of generations of people's navies chasing deep blue and sticking to southern Xinjiang.

During the period of 1997, Zhuhai Ship visited four countries and five ports, including the United States, Peru, Mexico and Chile. This visit is the first time that China's main warship has crossed the Pacific Ocean. This voyage is of epoch-making significance to the Chinese People's Navy. At the same time, this voyage has set a record for the longest visit time and the largest number of ports and countries visited, giving the world a new understanding of the strength of our people's navy.

Since the beginning of 2 1 century, Zhanjiang and Zhuhai ships have undergone many modern refits and installed many modern weapons and equipment, which greatly improved their anti-ship, anti-submarine and anti-missile capabilities. In an exercise on 20 13, Zhanjiang ship successfully intercepted two missiles with the modern weapon of ship-to-air missile.

After 30 years of hard work and struggle, these two warships have won many exploits. Although retired, it will not fade. After the transformation, the two retired warships will be used as national defense education bases in Zhanjiang and Chongqing respectively, leading generations of young people to pursue their deep blue dreams.
