Tian Ji often races with the Duke of Qi, and sets a large sum of money as a bet. The method adopted by Sun Bin in the story of Horse Racing in the Sky is the earliest application of "game theory".

Legend has it that after Sun Bin was ambushed by Pang Juan, he made the first pair of knee-high boots out of animal skins to protect the injured leg whose patella was cut off. Later shoemakers regarded Sun Bin as the god of shoemaking. There is also a legend that Sun Bin met a woodcutter when he went down the mountain one day and was bitten by a poisonous snake. In order to prevent the snake venom from attacking him, Sun Bin cut off the woodcutter's foot with one sword. The woodcutter was reluctant when he saw that his foot was gone.

Sun Bin cut off his own foot and put it on the woodcutter. Sun Bin had no feet, so he asked the woodcutter to take off his shoes and put them on his feet. The woodcutter forgot to ask Sun Bin's name and address. When I got home, I was complained by my wife and children. The woodcutter's wife said, "In order to repay the benefactor, we should make two more pairs of shoes and send them to him, so as not to make him suffer again when his shoes are worn out."

So the woodcutter asked around with his shoes. Later, the woodcutter couldn't find Sun Bin, so he gave his shoes to others to show his gratitude. The woodcutter and his wife have been making shoes and transporting them. People who wear shoes for a long time often send some money and food, and then someone helps to make shoes for others under their influence, so the shoe-making industry has mushroomed.

Later, when the shoemakers learned about Sun Bin's rescue of the woodcutter, they worshipped him as the founder of the shoemaker and called him Sun Zu, Teacher Sun Bin, Master Sun Bin and True Sun Bin. Shoemakers usually offer sacrifices to their ancestors on the first day of the tenth lunar month to thank them for passing on their skills to future generations.

After the shoemaker's disciples sacrificed their ancestors, they presented their shoes to the master and asked him for advice. In the past, shoe manufacturers in Beijing also held activities and banquets in Tongxingtang restaurant outside Qianmen on the 28th of January to commemorate Sun Bin.
