Modern people use their eyes frequently, much higher than the ancients. Therefore, according to the author's experience, it is recommended to close your eyes and sit still.

Body spine. The body must be straight, the spine should be relaxed vertically, and the chest should not be arched. Vertebral nodes should be stacked like abacus beads. Don't lean left and right and don't bend back and forth. The spine of the body is vertical, but you should relax and not intentionally "stretch" up and down.

Hands. Hands can be placed at will, either flat on your knees or in front of you. Here, I suggest putting the knot "Samadhi Seal" (under the left hand, on the right hand, with the thumb touching) in front of you, as shown in the figure.

Hip. Beginners who have just started to sit still have no meditation skills. The author reminds us that we must remember to put a cushion 6 to 10 cm thick under our hips. Of course, it depends on personal circumstances. Not too thick or too thin, just feel comfortable.
