Have you ever tried walking 100 km?

Sometimes if you don't challenge yourself, you'll never understand what the limit is.

In the second semester of college, I participated in the Hunan 100 km hiking activity held in Changsha. Before the activity registration began, many friends showed great interest, but when it really came time to register, only one senior went to register with me. Travel without action is always an armchair strategist. Even if you want to go to Qian Shan, you will only move between square inches.

At about six o'clock that morning, it suddenly began to rain cats and dogs. QQ group didn't stop overnight. Everyone is getting to know each other. Add QQ. I hope this road won't become too boring. At about 5: 40, we got on the school bus from the school gate. Although I didn't know many people along the way, I tried to see more faces. There is 100 km along the way. In case I am alone, I have to go the rest of the way.

prepare

The starting point of this 100 km is Yanghu Wetland Park in Changsha, Hunan. The organizer made a speech on the temporary stage and wished the event a success. This 100-mile walk, from Changsha Yanghu Wetland Park to Hunan Zhuzhou Sports Center, takes a full 100 km. The weather in Changsha was not very good when we set out. It just rained cats and dogs this morning. Fortunately, the night before I left, I bought some plastic raincoats in the supermarket specially to keep out the wind and rain.

The sky is gray and black, and thick dark clouds are layered. The strong wind above is overturning the dark clouds overhead, like the cloud nine that is about to fall at any time.

I remember before we set out, my roommates said that I paid for it, and they all felt that walking 100 km for no reason was enough. I am really a restless person. I always like to walk outside when I have nothing to do. I didn't attend this activity last time. Actually, I didn't want to attend, but I missed the registration time. I think the meaning of doing something lies in a difficult word. Only when you have experienced different difficulties can you be fearless when you encounter difficulties next time.

leave

Our departure time is around 8:30 in the morning, which is also indicated in the brochure given to us by the organizer. But there are still many students who can't get used to these speeches of leadership formalism, so they set off one after another more than half an hour in advance. When we set out, it was raining in Mao Mao and the wind didn't stop. The weather problem that I was worried about before seems to have turned into a kind of weather now. It's just right, and I won't feel too tired when I walk. It is said that the weather was not very good in the past, either heavy rain or bright sunshine. Fortunately, meeting such good weather this time gave us great confidence and encouragement.

That senior is a tall girl. She walks very fast. The other day, she told me that she was worried that walking slowly would slow me down. Now it seems that I may have been a little overwhelmed by this speed for a long time. But what she seems to be worried about now is not whether she will delay her trip, but whether she can arrive at today's destination-Xiangtan University of Technology before 7 pm. A girl must be looking for a hotel tonight. She was afraid that she would be late and could not book a room. I happened to have a high school classmate over there, so I just said hello to her and asked them to book a room as soon as possible.

Within more than an hour's journey from the park, we took some main roads where urban vehicles walked. Sometimes it passes by houses. At this time, local residents usually put some snacks and drinks in front of their homes and sell them to us, which can be regarded as some economic benefits brought by this activity to the people. I also saw many children and old people sitting in front of their homes and watching a large group of us pass by their homes. They should not be surprised. After all, this activity is not the first time this year. It used to be held every year. Otherwise, there would not be so many ordinary people wholesale so many snacks in advance and set up stalls on the road.

After walking for about two hours, our trip was arranged to go south along Xiangjiang River. The natural wind is strong by the river, and April is a good time. The riverbanks along the river are rows of green artificial green belts, which is particularly conspicuous at this time. The river is tortuous, but the terrain is relatively flat, so at this time, you can just see how long the line has been stretched. More than 10,000 people are walking by the river, and the naked eye can hardly see the end. Such a spectacular scene reminds me of the Long March. By the way, I took out my mobile phone and quickly left this precious lens. This means that you don't have to worry about losing the team when you have a rest on the road. After all, there are so many people going back and forth that it is impossible to be alone.

challenge oneself

Along the way, we also noticed that in addition to students from various schools in Changsha, some social walking groups also walked in the crowd, but they didn't have to wear uniform short sleeves issued by the organizers. In this free group, they only need to take the road they want, and they can contact the tour leader to drive back.

On the way, we saw a man in his forties and fifties, wearing a cap and sunglasses, plus a pair of Nike sneakers. I formed a team with a lady who looks similar in age. Although both of them are much older than us, they are as fast as flying all the way. They walked for about 30 miles without stopping. Listening to their conversation, I also found that this is actually not the first time they have participated in this activity. They talked about other places, probably people who often go out to exercise. The vitality of life lies in the passion of sports, and the pressure and troubles brought by work and life are lost during the journey. A person's life is sometimes destined to stay in one place.

At noon, we have turned from the river to an expressway that has not been repaired and opened to traffic. At this time, our vision is more open, and we can see dozens of miles away with the naked eye. Along the way, the organizers set up some check-in points and supply points, and many students will have their feet worn out or blistered because of long walking. In these places, doctors or nurses will apply some potions or band-AIDS to those people, and some people can go home by car in these places if they really can't leave. Of course, the price is that you won't get the certificate with the organizer's seal in the end.

lunch

Probably at the border between Changsha and Xiangtan, a sign-in point will be set up to give students a bread and a bottle of Jiaduobao for lunch. At that time, I felt that the organizer was too stingy and only gave a loaf of bread so far a day. Villagers nearby also seized this business opportunity and peddled some lunch boxes or stir-fried dishes on the roadside. Compared with bread that looks irritating, we certainly choose to treat ourselves beautifully. After all, it is unforgettable to sit on the roadside where more than 10 thousand people walk to eat.

After a good rest, there are probably more than 50 miles to go. We found a strange phenomenon. At the beginning, everyone talked and laughed, and even had a lot of chasing, but in the next few decades, all the people we saw were dim and silent. Even if seven or eight people walk together, few people make a sound. It would be strange if passers-by saw such a scene for the first time, but as I have experienced it personally, I can understand the truth. Just one word, tired. No one wants to waste more energy on joking. Those who listen feel tired, while those who speak feel even less energetic. It doesn't matter if you don't rest. I walked dozens of miles in one breath and didn't feel tired. When I stopped, I felt I didn't want to stand up again.

Meet an old friend

People in the same trade are gradually alienated. Because our speed is relatively fast, many people who started at the same time have been dumped by us. Just at this time, I also met a high school classmate and a girl. She looks like a thin girl, but I didn't expect to have such perseverance to participate in such activities.

She looks relaxed, as if she had just set off. According to what she said at that time, when reading thousands of books and taking Wan Li Road, there is always one body and soul on the road. As a student majoring in Chinese studies, she naturally speaks unconventional and even expresses herself in such a lofty way. She said that this is also an opportunity to experience, and she has to go to class tomorrow, so she can't leave. I said, don't you regret it? Challenge yourself and return halfway before the end. She believes that the real meaning of challenging herself is not to set the same goal as others, but to surpass herself. Everyone has a different realm, and going beyond her own limits is her greatest goal.

Suddenly, I feel that what I said is really reasonable. It seems that there are so many elderly uncles and aunts coming to participate in this activity along the way. Some people are over 500 years old, and they may not be able to walk that hundred miles in one breath, but seeing different scenery in places that ordinary people can't walk is another realm of life. What people should do is not to compare with others regardless of conditions, but to cultivate patience and perseverance that constantly challenges their limits. After the challenges day after day, you will find that looking back, a hundred flowers will blossom.

Senior students seem to dislike this kind of small talk a little, because it slows us down a lot, and I don't want to delay too much time, so I bid farewell to my classmates and accelerated my pace to move on. Compared with the rainy weather in Changsha, it gets hotter in the afternoon after approaching Xiangtan. And walking on the cement road, the temperature is much higher than before. Exposure to the sun for a long time will make my face and neck red, which is not difficult for me, a child living in the countryside since childhood. The senior covered his face with a towel and made an umbrella to keep out the rain.

At this moment, I feel very tired. I need to stop and sit on the side of the road from time to time to have a rest, and the footsteps of people before and after are getting smaller and smaller. Senior, we look more like caravans walking in the desert, really. We cover our faces with different clothes and headscarves one by one, which looks a bit like the clothing style of the western regions and has a slow pace. Isn't this the scene where Zhang Qian went to the frontier?

The long cement road finally ended at about 5: 30 in the afternoon, and we are close to Xiangtan city. Xiangtan City is also located on both sides of Xiangjiang River. Several river-crossing bridges connect the urban agglomerations on the east and west banks, looking at Changsha in the north and Zhuzhou in the south.

At this time, the sun has become less terrible, but my legs and feet have become more sore, and according to the map, there are still about 10 miles from today's destination-Xiangtan University of Technology. At this time, many people use various ways to relax themselves. Some people simply lie on their backs in the green belt and cover their faces with clothes. I wonder if they are going to sleep here today. His behavior also caused us to laugh, and finally it was the first time that we felt a little happy after a whole day's hard work.

Arrive at the first destination

Because I have asked my classmates here to prepare a room for the seniors to rest at night, she is not as anxious as before when she gets to her destination, or she may be tired. I'm sorry to show too much in front of a younger school girl.

Someone in the QQ group has arrived half an hour in advance, and others have sent arrival messages one after another. We also used our last strength to speed up our steps and strode forward along the river bank. There is only a pale yellow cloud on the western horizon, and the high-rise buildings along the Xiangjiang River are also lit with neon lights one after another. Although the night view of the city is great, we have no mind to stop and enjoy taking pictures. I just want to get to my destination early in one breath. Many things happen. After a long journey of 1 1 hour, I finally arrived at my final destination from Changsha today.

After signing in, I tried to sit down and have a rest. I didn't expect the pain of tearing the soles of my feet. This kind of pain that I have never had before makes my forehead sweat. I can only bear it for a while and contacted my high school classmates who are studying here. He is a very enthusiastic person, and will welcome me at once. After we sit on the grass for a short rest, he will invite us to dinner and say that he will do his best as a host. Senior refused to agree to eat anyway, just wanted to take a bath in the hotel and rest early to prepare for tomorrow's trip. He took her to the taxi for me. I couldn't walk any further, so I lay on the grass and had a rest. At this time, no one will laugh at this behavior. After all, everyone worked so hard, but they followed more.

It never occurred to me that I arrived in Xiangtan on foot for the first time in my life. It's a full 100 mile journey from Changsha to Xiangtan, and I never thought of going through such an experience before. However, after arriving, in addition to experiencing fatigue that I have never experienced before, it is more of a sense of accomplishment. Just like the girl said before, surpassing yourself is a kind of gain.
