What do Americans think of UIUC?

There is absolutely no problem for UIUC to be in the top ten public rankings (this year it was tied for 9th place with its neighbor Wisconsin-Madison in BIGTEN, and in 2011 it was a bit sad that it was tied for 15th place with Penn State State). A few rankings can be squeezed into the top five (such as those ranked by BIGTEN), but this is subject to discussion, but the reputation among public universities is still relatively high: except for schools in the California UC system (basically two schools, UCB and UCLA), Virginia, There is also UIUC outside of UM (Ann Arbor) in Michigan, the boss of BIGTEN. In the BIGTEN Alliance in the Midwest, UIUC ranks second after UM, and its campus area is also the second largest after UM. In addition, its library collection is the largest among public universities in the United States, and its collection of books is the third largest in the United States. UIUC is a very "partial" school. This is a recognized problem, certainly more serious in my opinion. It is one of the top schools for engineering. No engineering major has ever fallen out of the top ten. Most of them are in the top five, and basically all are in the top three. It is very scary. Basically, MIT ranks first and second. The name is UIUC (or UCB).

EE and Civil Engineering are both number one. Compared with the School of Engineering, the School of Business is just so-so. It can’t be said to be strong at all, but it can’t be said to be bad either. I once entered the top ten, and I happened to be tenth in 2006. I remember correctly it was in 2006. Now I have been ranked in the top ten, and now I am not even in the 20th place. However, the admission requirements are basically the same as those of the School of Engineering. In addition, you don’t need to listen to other people’s advice. There is nothing wrong with studying business as an undergraduate, but I hope you continue to study for graduate school, otherwise it will be difficult to find a job in the United States no matter what your major. Most Chinese people at UIUC are in LAS and the College of Engineering, and people from these two colleges together account for more than half of the school's population. There are more Americans in business schools. I personally think that the reason why UM has been ranked higher than UIUC for a long time, apart from various hard indicators, is because it is not as "scientific" as UIUC.

UM's engineering is not as good as UIUC, but not bad, but UM's Ross School of Business is more than one and a half stars better than UIUC. Renren Business School ranked 12th in 2011, but it still dropped. Going to UM to study business is a good choice, and it’s even better if you’re a graduate student. Now the latest MBA ranking UM is basically rising every year, and it is a new leader. In 2011, it has reached eighth place. UM has become the MBA choice for many people. Unfortunately, I was rejected by UM's Ross School of Business, so I chose UIUC as the next best option. In short, I would like to tell you that UIUC is a good school. The scenery is nice. You are surrounded by acres of cornfields. The campus is quite beautiful. Although it is "a bit biased", it still has a good reputation.

Considering the situation of UIUC Business School, business studies are just that, you know what I mean, but it makes sense if you can take advantage of UIUC's reputation. The business school is at least better than our LAS. I would say a skinny camel is bigger than a horse. Why don't you study business if you are admitted to the business school? Engineering schools are good, but if you don’t study engineering as a graduate student, or don’t engage in this kind of work in the future, no matter how good they are, what’s the use of studying them? No matter how bad a business school is, it is still a business school. People who are not studying at UIUC cannot speak irresponsibly. How can someone who is admitted to a business school go to LAS to study mathematics or statistics? Let me tell you, you will be useless, really useless. As a UIUC student, I can't harm you. Just study business. A friend of mine is in business. There's nothing bad about it. Although the business major may sound a bit rustic, it's still better than most majors.
