A truly rich man never shows off everything he has.

I overheard this passage yesterday:

The more ostentatious a person is, the more lacking he is. A truly rich man never shows off everything he has. He doesn't tell others what books he has read, what cars he has driven, where he has been, how many clothes he has and what jewelry he has bought, because he has no sense of inferiority. The richer the heart, the simpler the life.

I like this passage very much, but I don't know what the society is like now. People often become very fond of "expressing themselves" easily. It seems that only in this way can they be appreciated by their leaders and colleagues, enjoy themselves in the workplace and be respected by others. Those who work silently, work hard, never please, and deliberately express themselves gradually become small and transparent in the workplace, have no sense of existence, are not recognized by leaders, and are looked down upon by colleagues. Is this social progress or retrogression?

I happened to see a circle of friends sent by a colleague, which roughly meant that she was doing housework. Her husband said she wouldn't have to do it if she found cleaning. Looking back on her circle of friends, she is often filled with various screenshots of her daily chat with her husband, basically showing everyone that her husband sent her a lot of red envelopes and bought her expensive gifts.

Some people may think that you don't recognize others as sour grapes, but you are jealous that their husbands are good to others. What I want to say is that only people who are not rich enough like her will be jealous of these things.

People who have really seen, thought and are rich enough in their hearts don't want everyone around them to know what they have, where they have been, what they have seen and so on. And they won't be jealous because of what others said, what they bought and what friends they made.

Sometimes it's not what you wear, what you wear, that will make others think how noble you are. The more you show off to others in appearance, the easier it is to appear without depth and connotation.

People with rich hearts often don't need to get a sense of existence from the praise and pursuit of others. They have their own rich inner world, their own pursuits and preferences, and do not need to let those who don't know.
