How to write a birthday party in a novel

In fact, birthdays can also be used. It’s realistic and sad, but it’s not like what many novels write: What happened to my mother suddenly, what happened to my father suddenly, what happened to the people close to me suddenly, what happened to my family suddenly, what happened to my boyfriend suddenly... Then here’s a sentence: Today is XX/him /her birthday. These deliberately amplified "sadness" not only fail to earn tears, but will make people disgusted. In the same way, the deliberately amplified "happiness" does the same. I want to see that all the emotions expressed in words are taken for granted. I don’t like pretentiousness and pretentiousness.
