An old friend means a lover. There are two allusions in these two poems, the source of which lies in Xie Shu's Letter to the King: Ye Ting hired the country and Nagato lost the banquet. When we meet, we will sing tea and spoil the sad fan. There are butterflies among the flowers, and Shuang Yan is the curtain man. Let spring come on credit, and cherish beauty. Take care of a lifetime, the past is precious and cheap. So the heart is eternal, so the heart is invisible.

This poem by Xie Shu is also expressed in in my heart forever, and it also uses the allusion of "Sad Fan". The last two sentences of Xie Shu's poems are "Therefore, the heart is still eternal, so the heart is not seen".
