There are two different opinions about the creation background of this poem:

1. In the fourth year of Lu Yingong (719 BC ), Wei Guogongzi Zhouxu (also known as "Weizhouxu" by his predecessors) united the three kingdoms of Song, Chen and Cai to attack Zheng. This theory was first advocated by the "Preface to Mao's Poems": ""Beat the Drum" was blamed on Zhouxu." "Weizhouxu used troops to cause riots, causing General Gongsun Wenzhong to level Chen and Song Dynasties. The people of the country complained about his bravery and rudeness."

Zheng Jian cited the fact that the state called for an attack on Zheng in the "Zuo Zhuan·Yin Gong Four Years".
