Look at transparency

Most brands of wood paints will provide samples in specialty stores, and consumers can observe the color and transparency of the samples. Good wood paint has high permeability and luster, which can not only highlight the texture structure of wood, but also decorate the board. Inferior products will turn white when coated on the plate, and the texture of the plate is not clear.

Choose according to purpose

Besides waterborne and oily wood paints, oily paints can also be divided into raw paints, varnishes, nitrocellulose paints, polyurethane paints, polyester paint, UV-curable wood paints, etc. Different coatings have different functions and uses. For example, the wood floor is required to be hard and wear-resistant, and polyurethane paint can be selected; Wooden crafts require light and thin paint surface, prominent wood grain, delicate and smooth tentacles, nitrolacquer can be used, and so on.

Hands-on test

No matter what kind of wood paint, there are two basic requirements, namely, yellowing resistance and impact resistance. When choosing wood paint, you can ask for a sample, and slide your nails or cardboard back and forth on the surface of the sample to see if there are cracks on the paint surface. Then tap the sample plate with a small hammer to observe whether the paint film on the surface of the sample plate is cracked or deformed. If the paint film is intact, it means that the quality of wood paint is good!

Touch and feel

Good wood paint, coated on the board, will make the board feel delicate, smooth, plump and moist, and there will be no stagnation and fragility of the paint film, while inferior wood paint will not only fail to achieve the above effects, but also may contain impurities, and the surface of the paint film may have a grainy feeling!
