Dazhen Kampo: Does the avatar help our practice?

We should take Buddha as our mentor and listen to his teachings, so that we can get rid of reincarnation and pain. Ghosts and gods have magical powers and some secular blessings, but this is not what we want.

Why doesn't Buddha let us learn to practice magical powers? Because before enlightenment, having magical powers will become an obstacle to our practice. "Why, can't you? It is more convenient to have an avatar. Where there is a unique dharma meeting, you can fly directly without obstacles, which will help. " Actually, it's not. It's not as simple as you think. We can't even let go of this little interest in the world now, which has hindered our practice, not to mention our magical powers. According to the laws of the world, the avatar is a great wealth and a great blessing. With the connection of God, wealth and fame naturally come into being. You haven't enlightened yet, and you have got great blessings in the world. It's impossible not to insist, right? At that time, you can't let go, you will be obsessed with the avatar, and then you will always engage in the avatar. Through these, you will practice the eight laws in the world, let yourself sink in and become an obstacle to practice. Look at many people now, even the games on the computer are persistent, infatuated, unable to let go, and unconsciously become addicted to playing. If you create an avatar, you can't stop the game. Then practice the eight laws of the world to gain fame and fortune, which will definitely create a career, delay and hinder your own practice. The wisdom of the Buddha is boundless. He knows that this is the result of spiritual practice, so the Buddha opposes spiritual practice.

At that time, many disciples of the Buddha were arhats and all had magical powers. One day, the Buddha was about to appear, and one of his disciples couldn't see the time clearly, so he flew over through the magical power. When the Buddha knows, let him go back and come over, then he can participate. For an accomplished person, for a person with a certificate of genuine talent and practical learning, there is no difference between gold and cow dung, and there is no difference between magic and child's play. It doesn't matter, he won't be obsessed with these things. When it doesn't make sense, you don't put your head on, and you don't often play. If you regard these ghosts and gods as mentors, Shinto, magical powers and gods as monasteries, and people who practice magical powers as Taoist friends, you will be ruined, and it is easy to lose your wisdom, lose heart and miss the opportunity of liberation in this life!

The Buddha is completely merciful, doing good to us, not restraining or restricting us. Some people want to convert, but when they think that there are so many demands after conversion, they will not convert. What a fool! The difference between Buddha and God is that Buddha has true compassion and vast wisdom, and Buddha has the desire to benefit all beings and the ability to save them. Ghosts and gods don't have these, so we can't convert to them and make friends with them.
