How to write a good company report?

1. What is news?

News means "the report of recent facts". There are three meanings here.

"Recently happened" refers to the time when the news happened. Generally speaking, the latest news, the better.

"Fact" is the logical starting point of the whole news writing. The biggest feature of news is to speak with facts. Facts are objective and cannot be fabricated. The "facts" here refer to the news-worthy facts.

"Reporting" refers to choosing a suitable news genre and spreading it through mass media.

The above three aspects are the basic contents of the definition of news, and none of them can constitute news.

Although the word "news" is very familiar to ordinary readers, it is not so easy to define it accurately. So far, countless leading figures in the press have defined "news" by themselves. Regrettably, there is no simple and accepted definition in the world so far. Now I might as well quote some representative definitions from many angles:

1) News is a brand-new report about events, facts or opinions that people didn't know before reading your report.

2) Anything that is timely and can interest some people is news. The best news is the one that can arouse the greatest interest of the most people.

3) News refers to events, opinions or opinions that people can learn in time, which can attract or influence many people in society and be understood by them.

News is a timely report on anything. For many people in the readership, such reports are very important, practical or interesting.

5) Dog biting is not news, but man biting dog is (big) news.

Second, the characteristics of news

We know the definition of news, as well as the basic elements and writing characteristics that news should have. Simply put, the elements of news are five W's and one H's. When, where, who, what, why and how.

Introducing the basic elements of news to everyone is equivalent to dissecting a sparrow and seeing the internal structure of news. With this foundation, it will be much easier for us to study further. Just say inside, let's see what features are there outside the news. Looking at news from the outside, news has five characteristics: true, short, new, fast and lively. Let's talk about these five characteristics in detail.

1), the news should be-true.

Truth is the life of news. Any false and fantasy content should not be written in the news.

Fact refers to the "real situation of things" that has happened objectively. "Fact" is the premise of news writing. In other words, there is no news without facts. The facts are objective and independent of the reporter's subjective will and desire. In other words, if you like it, it won't happen; if you don't like it, it won't happen. This tells us that the facts can't be fabricated out of thin air anyway. This leads to a very important sentence, which I hope everyone will remember-truth is the life of news. From this, we can infer that whether a news article is well written depends not entirely on the beauty of its wording, nor on its ingenious structure, but on whether it tells an important news fact. Sometimes, as long as the facts are introduced, there is no need to say more, and the facts themselves become the best proof. For example, there is such a message: "Passenger transport companies insist on learning from Lei Feng, and they have done 58 good things this quarter." Here, the colleagues of the passenger transport company did 58 good things. Through this fact, we feel that colleagues in this company have a clear-cut attitude, a solid method and remarkable achievements in the process of learning from Lei Feng.

So, news can't be fiction at all?

When writing an article, a writer must "touch the ground with three feet" and interview and write close to life. A young reporter asked, can't I make up a little? No, nothing can be made up for. You see, readers regard newspapers as completely true things, and there is a little falsehood in your article, which is cheating on readers. Who wants to be such a liar? Remember, our writer is an "army" and can never be an air force.

2) The news should be short.

News is a report of recent or ongoing facts. People are eager to know what happened recently, so "reporting the facts in short language" has become the expectation of readers and viewers.

If there is news, such as a sudden fire on the mountain, let you report and write a message. You can write the reasons for the fire from the hazards of the fire, from the geographical location of the fire, to the location of the fire, from the fireman's route to the traffic jam on the road, from the organization and leadership to the people's active participation in the fire fighting, and the most households can write that the fire was finally put out. It may be more than 1000 words, but we have to ask-these contents are what readers are most eager for.

Readers are most concerned about three points at this time: first, the cause of the fire, second, whether the fire was put out, and third, how much the loss was. Such news should be expressed in 200 words at most, or less.

So, long things are not good things? This can't be generalized. It's better to have shorter news reports.

3) News should be original.

News news must be new first. In fact, we talked about this in the first lesson. I would like to remind everyone to pay attention to the news: first, news refers to the need for new content, not to repeat the old, and second, the need for new form, focusing on unconventional performance. Metaphorically speaking, news should be a bride, not only new, but also dressed new.

News must be innovative and valuable at the same time, which is an important requirement for our reporters to write news.

4), the news to-fast

News reports must be quick and timely. In adult newspapers, people often say,' This manuscript is a thing of the past and can't be used any more. Using "every other day" to describe news is out of date and can no longer be published. Therefore, as a journalist, we must remember that news is time-sensitive. No matter how good the news is, it may soon become old news and no longer be adopted.

Journalists should step on the "hot wheels", rush to interview, rush to write a manuscript, and then rush to publish. At the beginning of the manuscript, when explaining the first W of the five elements-"time", it is best not to let people see the words "recently" and "not long ago".

5) News should be lively.

"Live" here means that the form of news should be alive. "To live" is relative to "to die". News is a vivid content. If the content is boring, the expression is rigid and the language is blunt, it will be boring. Formal activities mainly refer to the activities of writing, language and typesetting.

Our first training course for journalists, what is news and the characteristics of news, will stop here for you. The next training will focus on two commonly used news genres, communication and news. Everyone can pay more attention to their daily work and life and think more when reading newspapers and listening to news. The so-called attention is everywhere. Finally, I wish you to do more works, have a good rest, work hard, play hard and, of course, study hard.
