These four surnames are not necessarily descendants of Chiyou after Yan Huang. Which four are they?

Surnames are an inseparable part of China culture with a long history. It can be said that there is a long history behind every surname.

However, in our impression, no matter which surname we have, we can all be called descendants of the Chinese people. So far, all China people proudly claim that we are descendants of China people.

"Yandi" refers to Yandi and "Huang" refers to Huangdi. These two people are also called the ancestors of the Chinese nation.

"Guoyu Yujin" records:

In the past, Shao Dian married a man named Gao and gave birth to Huang Di and He. Huang Di was born in Jishui (now Qishui River in Guanzhong, Shaanxi Province) and Yan Di was born in Qingjiang River in Baoji, Shaanxi Province. Cheng is different from Germany, so Huang Di was born in Jishui and Jiang, and the two emperors used teachers to help each other, which is also the reason why Germany is different.

From this record, we can see that Yan Di and Huangdi originally belonged to two brothers of the same tribe. Because they live in two different rivers, they form different tribes. Over time, people in the tribe also have surnames, namely Ji and Jiang.

Later, after the number of people began to increase, many branches appeared. In order to distinguish offspring, surnames appeared again.

So surnames are not the same concept in ancient times, but there are differences, namely:

Later, the Yellow Emperor and Yan Di became the leaders of two rival tribes. After the Battle of Banquan, the Yellow Emperor defeated Yan Di, and the two tribes gradually merged into the Chinese nation.

But the surname culture has spread to the present, which is obviously different. In daily life, surnames only refer to surnames.

But if you are one of these four surnames, you may not be a descendant of the Chinese people, but you are probably a descendant of Chiyou. What are the four surnames?

The earliest activities of the Yellow Emperor and Yan Di were in today's Shaanxi Province. The Yellow Emperor finally settled near Zhuolu, Hebei, and Yan Di later moved to Shandong.

But at that time, Yan Di and Huangdi were not the only two tribes. In Shandong, Henan and Anhui, there is also a powerful tribe-Jiuli.

The tribal leader of Jiuli nationality is Chiyou.

Chiyou originally belonged to the same tribe as Emperor Yan. Later, the two men clashed, and Chiyou left Emperor Yan to a group of people to develop themselves.

Chiyou has a strong command ability. Under his leadership, the Jiuli people began to farm, smelt copper and iron, and became five soldiers, and their power gradually became stronger.

In addition, it is said that Chiyou has 8 1 brothers, all of whom have extraordinary martial arts and are brave and good at fighting. These brothers also have their own tribe, the whole tribe alliance.

The famous historian Fan Wenlan also has a very clear explanation:

People who live in the south are called barbarians. Among them, the Jiuli nationality first entered the central region. Jiulidang is an alliance of nine tribes, and each tribe contains nine brother clans and eighty-one brother clans. Chiyou is the leader of Jiuli nationality, with 8/kloc-0 brothers, that is, 8/kloc-0 heads.

After Chiyou became powerful, he clashed with Yan Di tribe for many times, and finally a big war broke out between the two tribes. As a result, Yan Di was defeated.

In order to protect himself, Emperor Yan immediately asked the Yellow Emperor for help, and then made an alliance with the Yellow Emperor. Two forces are fighting against Chiyou, so Chiyou is very difficult, but neither of them has many brothers.

Later, Chiyou called his eighty-one brothers together to form a super coalition against the people of China in the north, and an earth-shattering battle took place between the two armies-the battle of Zhuolu.

At the beginning of the battle of Zhuolu, the Yanhuang tribe did not gain an advantage, but was defeated by Chiyou. According to historical records, "Nine Wars are Invincible", that is, the two sides fought nine times and the Huangdi tribe didn't win once.

As a leader, the Yellow Emperor was also very helpless. After all, he is no match for Chiyou in strength and familiarity with the local environment.

However, the Yellow Emperor will not make excuses for failure, but will only try to win. In order to overcome the ignorance of topography and climate, the Huangdi nationality made a device to identify the direction, which greatly increased the strength of the Yanhuang nationality. In the end, Jiuli clan was defeated and Chiyou was killed.

After that, Jiuli people merged with Yanhuang tribe, but some Jiuli people went to further places to live, and they formed a new tribal alliance, which was called Sanmiao in history books.

As recorded in Mandarin Zheng Zhu:

Miao Fu's virtue of nine miles ... Three seedlings, nine miles later.

After the Song Dynasty, there were clear records about the descendants of Sanmiao:

Taking Chu, Shu and Guizhou provinces as boundaries, Kaohong Temple is the legacy of the three ancient Miao.

However, with the development of later times, the descendants of Chiyou did not completely die out, but survived in the frontier, and gradually derived four surnames-Guo, Li, Zou and Tu.

So if you are one of these four surnames, you are probably a descendant of Chiyou.

Chi is a very rare surname in China, and I have never met any friends with such a surname, but that doesn't mean there is no such surname. According to the genealogy compiled by Ming Lun, Chi's family was behind Chiyou's.

If you have such a friend, you can almost say that he is a descendant of Chiyou.

Li's surname is very common now. For example, Dawn, once known as one of the four heavenly kings, is mainly concentrated in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, but rarely in the north.

Among hundreds of surnames, Li ranks 262nd, which can be regarded as a surname with a slightly larger population.

Zou surname, also a common surname, has a population of about 4.5 million and is scattered, mainly in Jiangxi, Hubei and Hunan provinces.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, there was a very famous handsome man with this surname. His name is Zou Ji.

Tu is the 238th surname in China, mainly distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Anhui and other provinces. This surname is not strange to us, because the first winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine in China is Tu, and her name is Tu Youyou.

There is also a compound surname, Zou Tu, who is also a descendant of Chiyou, but there are almost no people with this compound surname now.

Xuanyuan went to Chiyou to kill people, moved the good people to the land of Zoutu, and moved the wicked to their hometown in the north. Later divided into Zou and Tu.

Zou Tu was originally a compound surname. After being killed by Chiyou, I looked it up and couldn't find a Zou Tu.

In our impression, we always think that Chiyou is the representative of evil, which is also inaccurate. Like Yan Di and Huangdi, he is also one of the ancestors of our Chinese nation, but he was defeated by Yan Di and Huangdi, so he was gradually forgotten by later generations.

However, it is undeniable that Chiyou is known as the master of military strategists, the God of War and the Emperor Chiyou. It can be said that in ancient times, the civilization established by Chiyou also contributed to the formation of the Chinese nation.
