As a prison policeman, I often feel ashamed these days.

On the one hand, this sense of shame stems from my education and management of criminals for more than ten years, and I know nothing about community correction outside the big wall.

In a way, community correction and prison work should be the closest brothers.

Inside the high wall, the prison police are working hard, while outside the high wall, community corrections workers are working hard.

Community correction workers will receive released prisoners and do a good job in resettlement education; Criminals who go home on parole shall be taken over by community correction workers and given community correction.

Before coming to the judicial bureau, my eyes only fell on criminals, whether serving their sentences or returning to society, especially the latter. It never occurred to me that there are such a group of people who are working hard, silently and even full of grievances, and making contributions to consolidating the reform achievements of these criminals.

This sense of shame, on the other hand, stems from such a group of female social workers among comrades who stick to the front line of community correction.

In prison work, male prisoners are managed by male prison police and female prisoners by female prison police, which is indisputable from the perspective of safety and management efficiency. Whether the male police are in charge of female prisoners or the female police are in charge of male prisoners, it will lead to many hidden dangers.

However, in the community correction work, almost all of them are female community correction workers, and most judicial offices have only one social worker in charge of community correction work, so she has no choice but to face female criminals and male criminals at the same time. She participated in the whole process of community prisoners from declaration and correction to declaration and correction, even including taking back from courts and prisons, resettlement and education after correction, daily management, education and labor organization. In many cases, she is also the organizer herself.

Because I had the opportunity to go to several judicial offices for investigation, although it was only a little, and each judicial office only took half a day, but through communication with several female social workers, I had to write this article with my heart to express my respect for them.

I asked the female social worker, "Was a girl ever afraid to face so many criminals?"

The female social worker said, "Of course, I have always been afraid."

I asked, "What should I do if I am afraid?"

The female social worker said, "What should I do? I'm scared. If I'm scared. I can't let myself not be afraid, but I always tell myself that there is a country behind me and criminals should be more afraid of me. "

I asked, "Why did you choose to be a community correction social worker?"

The female social worker said: "To be honest, if I knew that the community correction social worker was doing what these criminals are doing now, I wouldn't even come if I were killed."

I asked, "Are you really leaving when you come?"

The female social worker said, "To be honest, I was ready to leave on my first day at work."

I asked, "Can you tell me what makes you think like this?"

The female social worker said: "Because, when I learned from my master how to go through the registration procedures for new correctional workers, my master arranged for me to make a phone call to check their reaction speed. As a result, a person told me directly on the phone that I'd better leave him alone, or he would know where my family lives, and the threat was very obvious. At that moment, I suddenly got scared and wanted to leave immediately. "

I asked, "Then why don't you go?"

The female social worker said, "Why don't you go? Sometimes, even we can't tell the difference. Low salary, high work pressure, many tasks and no name, not much different from temporary workers. Sometimes, I also ask myself why I haven't left yet. If something happens to community inmates, they can't run away if they want to. Now, the reason why I can answer and convince myself not to leave is that I am responsible for these community prisoners. I know them best. I am afraid that no one can do better than me after I leave. "

I asked, "How much do you know about them?"

The female social worker said: "I think, almost everything, when did you go out today, when did you go home, where did you go, what did you do, where is your household registration, where is your permanent residence, where do you go occasionally, what mistakes you made recently, who are you at home, what did you do, and even what is your recent relationship with your girlfriend? Did you have a fight? Did you have a company? How did you get along in the company?"

I asked, "What do you think of community prisoners?"

The female social worker said, "To be honest, if I take them seriously as criminals, I'm afraid I won't be able to do it in a day. Therefore, I told the community prisoners not to treat me as a person who asks you all day, but as a guide to help you successfully complete the community prison task. In my eyes, our goal is the same, that is, to help you change from a community prisoner to a community life person. "

I asked, "Does being a community correction social worker have an impact on your life?"

The female social worker said, "It's not a lie. If there is, there is almost nothing to make people feel good. "

I asked, "Nothing makes people feel good. What is consciousness? "

The female social worker said: "For example, I often walk in the street with my friends and meet prisoners in the community. They will take the initiative to say hello to me to show their respect. But because of their tattoos and weird hairstyles, they scared their friends several times and thought I had made some bad friends. Out of concern, I have been reminding me to keep a distance from such people. "

I asked, "What do you think is the greatest value of community correction?"

The female social worker said, "What I consider most is not the maximum value."

I asked, "What is the consideration?"

The female social worker said: "My main consideration is that they should not commit any more crimes, go out without fraud, violate the' Double Eight' regulations, separate people from machines, and continue to make mistakes and be sent to prison. That will be the failure of our correctional workers, and all our efforts will be wasted. "

Community correction female social workers are very busy, not only to correct, but also to receive delivery, help and teach, and even petition for stability when they are busy.

I visited several judicial offices and contacted several community correction female social workers, which was deeply touched.

It is hoped that the Law on Community Correction can be promulgated as soon as possible, and that female social workers in community correction can have better treatment, clearer responsibilities, give full play to their intelligence, and contribute their due strength to building a peaceful and harmonious society.

I even thought that in the future, the prison police can recruit community correction workers who have worked for more than two years.
