When my daughter was one and a half years old, she didn't talk much, and her words were not very clear.

For example, "Huahua", she will say "Haha". Even if she says "mom", she will say "mom". The only clear word is "dog" because she goes out to see dogs every day.

I know children's language development is backward. Because when taking her out to play, children of the same age talk and keep popping up, so she can only watch and keep silent.

Take her to the doctor. Doctors say there is nothing wrong with children's language organs, but there is too little communication with parents.

Many parents think that children can always talk, even if they are a little behind, but when they start to understand, they can talk. But learning to speak requires context. If parents don't output a lot, how can children input and where does the language break out?

After listening to the doctor, I feel very bad. Usually busy with work, I really rarely communicate with my children. As a result, she can say too few words.

Generally speaking, children will enter the word explosion period at about one and a half years old, and will enter the sentence explosion period at about two years old. Before the age of 3, it is the most critical period for children to learn to speak. If children fall behind at this stage, it will be much more difficult to catch up later. One: Talk to your baby more, starting with common words in your life.

My child belongs to the kind that makes people worry. They play with toys there by themselves, leaving their parents alone. We seem relaxed, but we ignore her language development.

Although she also watches TV, she learns a sentence or two from the characters in cartoons. But this kind of communication is one-way, and children need to listen and speak in both directions in order to develop their language better.

Later, I talked to her as soon as I had time. Tell her this is a table, this is a cup and this is a stool. I will also accompany her to read picture books. For example, when I read The Enlightenment Book on Learning to Speak a Language, I will ask questions while talking.

There is a scene of buying fruit in the book. I pointed to a banana and asked the child, what kind of fruit is this? She can say bananas. I pointed to the pineapple and asked, what is this?

She replied that she didn't know. I told her it was a pineapple. She repeated my words, pineapple.

Then I encouraged her to say, baby, tell me, what is this? She learned to say pineapple.

Be sure to talk to your child more and encourage him to speak out. In a rich language environment, children have a large reserve of words and phrases, and when the reserve is enough, language breaks out.

Two: speak slowly and say short sentences.

A short sentence is a sentence with only "subject, predicate and object" and no redundant modifiers.

For example, when I talk to my daughter, I will be brief, such as "Dad wants to drink water", "Dad plays with you" and "Does the baby want to eat", and I won't say a long list of words like "Dad is too thirsty and just wants to drink a big glass of water". There are too many modifiers, which children can't understand and are easily confused.

Moreover, when we talk to the baby, we must speak slowly. Talking too fast, the baby can't keep up.

Three: the transition from words to sentences

When you find that there is not much problem for children to say words, we can transition to sentences. For example, if he is thirsty, say "water" first, then "drink water", and then he can express "I want to drink water". At this time, we should consciously encourage him to say more sentences.

We can also spend more time with our children reading picture books.

Because we are locked at home, the sentences we can speak are limited, and the picture books are rich and varied, which can expand our thinking and increase sentences. Children can learn many words and sentences in various scenes of picture books. For example, the book Learn to Speak a Language, which I read with my baby, contains many situations that enrich children's language environment.

One of the themes is doctrinal sentences. I pointed to a man with a brush and asked, what is he doing? The baby answered while drawing. By the way, I'm sure she is drawing.

My daughter knows what to say. She pointed to the people in the book and said, the doctor is seeing a doctor, the teacher is in class, and the aunt is singing.

In this way, she can transition from words to sentences, and then enter the outbreak period of sentences.

There are also five progressive articles, including expanding words, understanding pinyin, sentence theory, three-character nursery rhymes, and telling stories by looking at pictures.

When the baby has mastered a certain vocabulary, he needs to say sentences. At this time, we should encourage him to say more short sentences to make his expression more complete.

For example, word development, there is a little monkey. Let's not simply tell children that this is a monkey. But in order to teach children, there is a naughty little monkey, skipping.

Another example is "telling stories by looking at pictures". When we see a painting, we should simply describe it to our children. Then encourage him to say it in his own words. It doesn't matter if he is wrong. The main thing is to let him talk more.

Books are full of pictures that children are interested in, such as beautiful scenery, lovely animals and familiar people and things, which can stimulate children's interest. And he will take himself to experience these scenes.
