HR Talking about the Job Search and Career Planning of Network Engineers

Recently, the company recruited the position of network engineer. From the resume selection of the recruitment website to the organization of the interview, I want to talk about my feelings:

First, resume. Here, I pay more attention to my professional experience and achievements, as well as my technical professional direction. For my professional experience, I am concerned about the scale of the enterprise I serve and the specific business scope I am responsible for, especially whether my position is leadership or participation in specific work is very important. As for the technical direction, IT is necessary to reflect an idea of my career planning and clearly express my learning and development direction in the IT field. Judging from the screening of most resumes, most resumes are general in content and describe various skills, but the actual interview communication reflects that they only know the surface. The resumes I submitted are basically more than three years of work experience, but through interviews, I feel that most engineers are still at the level of basic maintenance of office computers, lacking some depth in three-tier switching, routing, firewall, database, distributed network planning and management. I suggest that network engineers with certain experience make a plan for their technical development after three years' accumulation. Personally, I prefer employees who have received vocational training, and their practical ability is generally strong, because vocational training is different from university education and attaches great importance to students' practical ability.

When it comes to interviews, the external image and communication skills of job seekers are very important. The image should reflect professionalism, such as clothing collocation, hairstyle, beard (male compatriot) and so on. Yesterday, I saw that some hair was messy as if it had not been washed for several days, and some people smelled of sweat when they sat face to face. This left a bad first impression. Let's talk about communication first. My interview style is more casual. There is no need to do any test questions such as TCP protocol. I'll just talk about my own work experience. I ask in detail, pay attention to the technical point. What level can be easily reflected through such communication? During the communication process, people's expressive ability and personality characteristics will be observed. For example, some people tremble when they speak, some people especially like sophistry, and some people are particularly passive. There are other details of the interview, which you should pay attention to as a candidate, because the interviewer is watching you all the time. For example, when some people enter the company, they loudly tell the receptionist that your company is not easy to find, and some people sit sideways with their legs crossed and look around while waiting. These details reflect a person's professionalism. I suggest that while learning IT technology, I should cultivate my professional quality and management ability and demand myself at a higher professional level.

Finally, talk about career planning. Although being a network engineer is mainly based on technology, you must have management ideas and concepts. In fact, everyone is a manager, because first of all, you already have a good management object, that is yourself. For IT technology, we should have a comprehensive understanding of the new knowledge and new concepts in the whole IT field, but IT is more important to choose a direction of in-depth development and become a professional expert, that is to say, we should pay attention to our horizontal and vertical development in the IT field.
