Meng Xiangling: Painting Healing, Mind "Password"

Meng Xiangling has many titles: director of TOEFL kindergarten, principal of Danhui Koucai School, guest lecturer of Beijing Normal University, and international IMHTC clinical hypnotherapist, but her favorite is the role of painting therapist.

I have been painting for more than ten years, and Meng Xiangling will be very pleased to see the children who are suicidal now living happily. "Busy is also worthwhile, saving many children and saving many families." Every weekend, Meng Xiangling will be very busy, and our interview is also completed in a busy time.

Children who committed suicide many times began to study and live normally.

Reporter: What is the situation of the child mentioned on the phone just now?

Meng Xiangling: That's a middle school student, a child who has been treated before. Just now, the mother called to chat.

Reporter: Can you tell me about the specific situation of that child?

Meng Xiangling: That was a case I worked on last year. A junior high school student was world-weary and committed suicide many times. After two painting treatments, I began a normal study life.

Reporter: Two treatments can pull a child who doesn't want to live back from the death line. Isn't it amazing?

Meng Xiangling: In the first treatment, the children drew two pictures, one for themselves and the other for their family. He drew the same picture in the second treatment, but we can clearly see the difference between the two times. The first time, the villain wore a hat and his facial features were vague and dull. The second time, the villain didn't wear a hat, his facial features were exquisite and elegant, and his movements were gestures of movement.

Seeing the first villain he painted, I said, "Your heart sometimes hurts." He stared at me for a while and asked, how do you know? In fact, all children's trauma will be projected from painting. Only by understanding his trauma can we find the root of the disease and treat it symptomatically. That's why I like painting healing. Through on-site painting, we can understand the cause of his illness and give the treatment plan. After two treatments, the child gave up the idea of suicide and returned to school. But he still has a bad mood occasionally, so I will keep in touch with him and give him timely guidance when necessary.

Painting Healing, Unlocking Respondents' Mind Code

Reporter: Can you explain the cure of painting in common words?

Meng Xiangling: In 2002, I studied children's psychology in Beijing Normal University and began to contact painting therapy. I liked this course at once. I am engaged in preschool education, and I founded TOEFL kindergarten. The initial idea of studying psychology is to know more about children and let their kindergarten children develop better.

Projection is a theory of psychology, which is a psychological process of attributing one's own or unacceptable thoughts, feelings, traits or behaviors to others. Based on psychological projection, painting therapy helps visitors "shift" their unacceptable aspects and express their feelings and experiences by creating works, so as to get rid of psychological anxiety and problem behavior.

Reporter: In the cases you have contacted, which type is more?

Meng Xiangling: The cases I have contacted include kindergarten children and adults. Adolescent children, such as nervous headache, dizziness, suicidal tendency, depression, fear, etc., are typical.

A middle school student who has treated nervous headache and dizziness is typical. Before the children came to me, they could not go to school for more than two months. He will faint at school, scaring the teachers and parents half to death. Finally I was transferred from Cangzhou to Beijing. When I arrived in Beijing, I still couldn't find the cause, but I couldn't walk. I either hold the wall or walk alone, or I will fall to the ground directly.

My parents came with me when I came. I was shocked at that time, and I didn't have much confidence in my heart.

Reporter: What should I do? Still in treatment?

Meng Xiangling: This was introduced by a friend. For the trust of friends, bite the bullet.

I'm going straight to the point about this child. I want to find out the cause of his headache. Such a child must have experienced setbacks and pains in his heart. He just used this way to escape from reality. This is the first picture he drew, a big head without limbs. At that moment, I thought, what controlled his mind? I used hypnosis in the treatment to remind him of the things that caused his pain points. This is the second picture he painted. He drew another portrait, saying that he was the representative of English class.

During the treatment, he added pockmarked face to the English class representative, drew glue and stuck her on the chair. Didn't draw her mouth.

A week later, he came again. The feedback this week is that I don't need to take medicine. I haven't fallen for a week, but I still have a headache

On his second visit, he drew two more pictures. This time, he drew hair, eyes and mouth for the English class representative. This shows that he has accepted her. At this time, I need to do one thing, deeply analyze her. This kid has a problem, too. I tried to get the headache child to analyze the English class representative. Finally, I said, if this paper needs to be added, how do you draw it? Finally he added himself, and he gave her a love. I didn't ask him to come again, although the painting still seemed to give him a headache.

When I left, I hinted to him that although your head hurts occasionally when you encounter unhappy things, I believe that it is the part that you can heal yourself.

A good therapist is to make visitors have the ability to heal themselves. Later, we kept in touch. He never took medicine or fell, and I became good friends with his family.

Like nervous headache and depression, I don't recommend taking medicine unless it is particularly serious. Everyone has a strong self-healing ability.

Painting healing is not limited by age, and it is the "key" to open children's psychology.

Reporter: Is painting healing suitable for children?

Meng Xiangling: Painting therapy is one of the methods of mental health recovery, regardless of age. Painting therapy is very consistent with children's psychological and age characteristics, because children can't accurately express their true thoughts and feelings in words, and graffiti can make children express themselves well.

Painting psychology uses psychological foundations such as psychoanalysis, humanism, cognitive psychology and behaviorism. As a psychological diagnosis and treatment tool, painting therapy can be said to be "silence is better than sound, and you can't see clearly".

Reporter: What's the youngest case you've ever been exposed to?

Meng Xiangling: There is a child in the kindergarten middle class, and the memory is very deep. That was last summer.

I remember early in the morning, the mother of the child called me and said, "It's broken, the child is possessed." . It turns out that every night, children will struggle with a question, "Mom, is it closed?" They ask countless times a night, and suddenly wake up in the middle of the night and ask this question again and again. At first, the family thought that the child was scared and invited the soul collector, but it was useless and there was no problem going to the hospital. My family was so anxious that my mother cried when she came.

I took out a piece of paper and a pen and asked the children to doodle casually. As a result, he drew a head and two small circles on the paper, and the head and the circle were separated. I asked him what it was, and the child said it was a spider, a bad spider. Seeing spiders, I understood and found the "nail" of children's psychological fear.

I asked the child, how can I cure this spider? The child thought about it and tied it, so the child drew many lines on the spider. He thought about it and said that it was impossible to climb up by cutting off its legs and its net, so the child added a few strokes to the paper heavily. Finally, the child said, take off its eyes and it will be invisible. However, the child sighed and said, "I still let the bad spider get away."

So much for the first treatment. As a therapist, I found the "nail" in my child's heart. I have the ability to pull it out, but I dare not pull it out hard. The child is too young, afraid to pull it out abruptly, which will hurt the child too much. So, combined with my treatment experience, I gave my mother some methods to try at home.

A week later, the family came again. This time, a smile appeared on mother's face. I know my method is effective. The second treatment went deeper and hit the nail in the child's heart. With the final treatment, this is naturally a matter of course.

After two painting treatments, children can be happy now, which is the "pistachio" in our kindergarten!

Children's problems stem from the family, and parents are expected to be better people than their children.

Reporter: Having done so many cases and contacted so many so-called "problem children", do you have any thoughts?

Meng Xiangling: In fact, behind every problem child, there is a problem family. The feeling for so many years is that the growth of parents is more important, and our parents should pay attention to learning.

The rebellion of children in adolescence highlights the family education before the age of 6. If children have a harmonious family and husband and wife before the age of 6, there will be no problem in adolescence. Therefore, parents should attend classes and study for life.

Reporter: This is a huge "project". Many parents have no awareness of learning, or they don't realize that this is their own problem.

Meng Xiangling: Yes, that's why I teach parents' classes. Since 2005, I have set up a parent class in kindergarten to give lectures to parents. After so many years, I have said it a thousand times, and the parents in kindergarten are all beneficiaries. I'm going to say it now Many parents came from Botou, xian county and Tientsin to attend my two-hour course. Later, I went into schools and communities to tell more parents. For more than three years, I went to xian county No.5 Middle School once a month to give a lecture on "Parents' Class". I hope to have the opportunity to go to more schools to teach parents' classes in the future, so that parents can become better people than their children.
