The story of King Dingsheng
The public case of King Dingsheng in "The Sutra of Virtues and Fools":
In the countless and incredible tribulations in the past, there was a man named Qu The great king of Sali ruled over 84,000 small kingdoms in the world. He had 20,000 wives, 20,000 maidens, and 10,000 ministers. One day, a blister suddenly appeared on the top of King Qusali's head. It was shaped like a silkworm cocoon. It was clean, clear, and painless, and gradually grew in size. When it grew to the size of a melon and gourd, I cut it open and saw a boy inside, with a very straight appearance, cyan hair and a purple-gold body.
The king asked the fortune teller to predict good and bad luck. The fortune teller told the king: "This child is majestic and has great merit. He will definitely be a holy king who will rule the world in the future." So he named him Ding. The king of life.
After Ding Ding grew up, he was indeed outstanding in virtue and virtue, and the king granted him the title of king of a small country. Soon the king became critically ill, and many kings from small countries came to visit him. However, the king's illness still did not improve, and he eventually died.
The kings of these small countries said to Jingsheng: "The king has passed away, please inherit the throne."
Jingsheng said: "If I am really lucky enough to be a king, I will The four heavenly kings and Emperor Shitian should come together to receive the conferment before I ascend the throne." As soon as King Jingsheng finished his oath, the four heavenly kings came down from the sky with treasure bottles filled with fragrant soup and initiated the king (according to past customs). , the king must be initiated when he ascends the throne.) Then, Emperor Shitian also came down from the heavenly palace, put the crown on the head of King Dingsheng, and praised Dingsheng together with the four heavenly kings. The little kings once again persuaded Jingsheng to become the king and rule the four directions.
Jingsheng said again: "If I really have the blessing of being a king, the country should obey me, not me." Just after taking the oath, all the palaces, gardens, and bathing pools in the country turned towards him. When the king comes, the golden wheel treasure, the elephant horse treasure, the jade girl treasure, the mani treasure, the minister treasure, and the general treasure also come. In this way, King Jingsheng ascended the throne of King Chakravartin and reigned over the four worlds.
One day, King Jingsheng was patrolling the country and saw many people plowing the fields. He asked the minister next to him: "What are these people doing?"
The minister replied: "People want to They depend on food to survive, so they grow millet to feed themselves."
King Dingsheng vowed at that time: "If I am really lucky enough to be a king, the country should have a natural diet of various flavors for everyone. All will be far away from hunger." Just after he swore, natural diet appeared in the country.
King Jingsheng continued his inspection, and this time he saw many people spinning and weaving, and asked: "What are you doing?"
These people said: "Although there is food and drink, But I have no clothes to cover my body, so I have to spin and weave cloth to make clothes."
King Dingsheng also vowed: "If I am really blessed to be a king, wonderful clothes should naturally appear in the country and be given to me. All the people, so that they will no longer be poor." Just after swearing, I saw wonderful clothes of various colors appearing on all the trees, and men, women, old and young all over the country went to get the clothes they liked.
King Jingsheng went on an inspection tour again and saw many people making and repairing musical instruments, so he asked: "What are you doing?"
They said: "We have food, clothing and clothes. It’s not possible without music, so we are making musical instruments.”
King Dingsheng vowed again: “If I am really blessed to be a king, all good musical instruments should appear naturally in the country.” , various musical instruments appear naturally hanging on the branches. People took it out and played it as they pleased, and the sound was very pleasant, and everyone who heard it liked it.
Because the King of Incarnation has great merits and blessings all over the world, he inspired the seven treasures from heaven to descend and fill all countries.
King Dingsheng asked the ministers: "Tell me, whose merit is this?"
The ministers replied: "It is not only the merit of the king, but also the merit of the people." "
King Jingsheng vowed again: "If it is the merit of the people, the seven treasures should be given to everyone. If it is just my merit, they should all be dropped in my palace." After swearing like this, The rain of seven treasures stopped in other places, but only in his palace, the rain of treasures fell for seven days and nights.
King Jingsheng enjoyed all the happiness in the world, and eighty-four thousand years had passed before he knew it. One day, a Yaksha suddenly appeared in front of the palace and said loudly: "The Fupati country in the east is rich and happy. No other country can compare with it. You can go there and have fun, my king."
< p> King Jingsheng agreed to Yaksha's suggestion, and as soon as he had the idea of ????wanting to see it, the golden wheel treasure flew over from the void, and then the ministers, white elephant treasure, cyan horse treasure, etc. followed behind, riding on the golden wheel. To the country of Fupati. All the little kings in Fupoti Kingdom rushed out to pick him up. The king enjoyed the life of five desires in the kingdom of Pupati for 800 million years. At this time, I heard Yaksha say: "The Kingdom of Kuyani in the west is also very happy. Your Majesty, you can go there and have a look."King Dingsheng went to the Kingdom of Kuyani again to enjoy a happy life. 1.4 billion years.
Yaksha said again: "The land of Yudanyue in the north is fertile and peaceful, and the people are prosperous. You can go there and have a look." The king came to Yudanyue again and enjoyed the five wonderful desires. After ten Eight hundred million years.
Yaksha added: "The joy of the Four Heavenly Kings is immeasurable. Your Majesty can go there and play." When they arrived at the Heaven of the Four Heavenly Kings, the Four Heavenly Kings were very frightened when they saw the King of Dingsheng. They immediately gathered their heavenly soldiers and tried to stop him, but they could not help him. The King of Dingsheng easily broke into the territory of the Four Heavenly Kings and enjoyed it leisurely for billions of years.
One day, King Jingsheng came up with the idea of ??going to the Trayastrim Heaven, so he took his men and flew away. At that time, there were five hundred immortals living in the belly of Mount Sumeru. During the flight, some of the urine and urine excreted by King Dingsheng's elephant and horse fell on the immortals. They felt puzzled and asked each other: "Whose urine and excrement fell on us?"
A wise man among the immortals said: "I heard that King Jingsheng wanted to go to Thirty-Three Heavens. These must be the impurities excreted by his elephants and horses."
The immortals were very angry after hearing this, and they collectively chanted a mantra to freeze the king and his followers in the air.
When King Dingsheng knew about it, he swore: "If I am really blessed, these immortals should all serve me." Because King Dingsheng had great merit, his oath came true, and five hundred immortals Involuntarily, they came to King Jingsheng. Some helped him hold the wheel, while others led his horse, and respectfully sent him to the thirty-three days. King Jingsheng saw the thirty-three-year-old Kuaijian City from a distance. It was tall and white and had one thousand two hundred gates. Because the emperors were afraid of the king, they not only closed all the city gates, but also set up a triple iron gate. But King Dingsheng led his troops and flew directly to the Tianmen without any hesitation. Then he blew the trumpet, drew his bow and fired, and immediately all the 1,200 city gates opened automatically. King Sakyamuni had no choice but to go out of the city to meet him and invited him to sit in the heavenly palace. The appearance of King Dingsheng and King Shakti are almost the same. It is difficult to tell them apart at first sight. Only by careful observation can they be distinguished. The top-born king enjoys all the happiness of the five desires in the Sakyamuni Heaven, and has experienced thirty-six generations of Sakyamuni Heaven.
From the above story of the King of Incarnations, we can see how great his blessings are. His lifespan, usefulness, power, dependents, food, clothing, housing, transportation, etc. are all extraordinary. Not only does he Enjoying all the pleasures of life, and continuing to develop until thirty-three days, in today's terms, he can be said to be a super successful person. Compared with his blessings, today's rich people are just a drop in the bucket. Now I have to ask, how did he get such a great blessing? Did you achieve success through tenacious hard work? Let’s take a look at his past karma:
The Buddha said: An immeasurable number of kalpas ago, there was a Buddha named Fusha Buddha who was teaching the world with his disciples. One day, a Brahmin attending a wedding was preparing to scatter soybeans to the bride with his hands. This was a custom at that time. At this moment, he saw the Buddha and was very happy. He threw some soybeans to the Buddha as an offering. Four of them fell into the Buddha's bowl and one fell on the top of the Buddha's head.
Due to this cause and condition, he experienced immeasurable blessings: the cause and condition of four soybeans falling into the alms bowl enabled him to control the four heavens, and the cause and condition of one grain falling on the Buddha's head enabled him to enjoy happiness in the heaven of the four kings and the heaven of Trayasatha.
Because the King of Immortality’s path to success relies on the Buddha’s body as the foundation of blessings, even though he paid only a pea worth less than a dime, he gained something that ordinary people could never dream of. Rich and wealthy. He did not work hard to obtain wealth like modern people, but because he was blessed to plant blessing seeds in the supreme blessing field, he gained immeasurable merit. Let’s think about it. Ordinary people like us, whose minds are full of evil distinctions, if we don’t rely on the Three Jewels and only rely on our arrogant ego and think what we can do, and strive with such ego, how much can we gain at best? ? Therefore, we should understand that the Buddha's body is the "repository of blessings in the world among the heavens" and we should sow blessings in the Buddha's field of blessings.
Feeding a Blessed Family
When the Buddha was alive, there was a wealthy family. The six members of the family were not only harmonious and happy, but also had great wealth and numerous slaves and maidservants. One day, the Buddha and Ananda went to the city to beg for alms. When they came to this house, the whole family was very happy and begged the Buddha to accept alms.
The magnificent house is paved with fine carpets; the food utensils used are all made of gold, silver and glazed glass, exquisite and solemn.
Ananda was very curious when he saw that this family's retribution was so extraordinary, so he asked the Buddha: "What are the reasons why they can enjoy such glory and wealth in this life?"
Buddha Tell Ananda: "In the past life, the owner of the house was very poor. One year, there was a famine in the village. Because of the shortage of food, the people could only pick plants by the water for food. On this day, the owner picked some water plants to make When the whole family was about to eat the soup, a Samana happened to come to beg for alms. The parents of the owner of the house said, "Take our share to feed the Samana!"
The children and grandchildren saw themselves. The parents of the family had no food available, so they donated their own soup to their parents, and the parents of the owner of the house donated the proceeds to the ascetics. So in the end, all the food of the family that day was provided to the monks, and they did not give up because of their financial constraints. I feel sad. My only regret is that I could not offer high-quality food to the Three Jewels.
Because of such sincere and pure charity, the whole family can continue to enjoy blessings in the world, peace, happiness and wealth after death. Because of this relationship, they have been married for generations and have enjoyed happiness together."
The whole family listened to the Buddha's teachings and decided to observe the five precepts together. After the death of this family, they will be reborn in heaven and receive immeasurable blessings.

Reflection
"The Sutra of Miscellaneous Treasures" says: "If someone can have pure faith, with one Take water and give it to the Buddha, the monks, your parents, and the sick. This merit will last for tens of millions of kalpas, and you will receive endless blessings." The family in the public case was sincere in offering food to the Three Jewels. , so you can enjoy happiness and happiness from generation to generation and form dharma connections. Buddhism says: "If you want to know the cause of the past life, what you are receiving in this life; if you want to know the result of the next life, what you are doing in this life." Grasp the current causes and conditions, practice charity diligently, and accumulate merit, and you will surely create a bright and satisfying future for yourself.
Seven Treasures with You
In the country of Savatthi, the wife of an elder gave birth to a son. When the child was born, gold, silver, glass, crystal, clams, pearls, agate and other rare and precious treasures rained down from the sky, filling the whole room. Seeing such auspicious signs, the elder quickly asked a fortune teller to read the child's fortune. After the fortune teller looked at it carefully, he told the elder: "This child of yours has a special appearance and is by no means an ordinary person." The elder was filled with joy after hearing this, so he asked the fortune teller to name the child. The fortune teller asked: "When this child was born, Is there any auspicious sign?" The elder replied: "When this child was born, seven treasures descended from heaven and filled the house." The fortune teller then said, "This child has great merit and we can name him 'Lenativa'. , which means 'Baotian'."
As Baotian grew up, he was not only smart and knowledgeable, but also respected the Buddha from the bottom of his heart and longed to inherit his power and virtue. enlightenment. One day, Bao Tian said goodbye to his parents and came to Gion Vihara. He paid homage to the Buddha with sincerity and respect and begged to become a monk. The Buddha compassionately said to him: "Come here, bhikkhu, your hair will fall by itself, and the Dharma will be in your body." Baotian immediately showed his appearance as a bhikkhu, and while listening to the Buddha's subtle Dharma, he attained the fruit of Arahantship.
Venerable Ananda was also happy to see such extraordinary results of Bhikkhu Baotian, so he asked the Buddha: "World Honored One, what kind of merit did Bhikkhu Baotian achieve in his past life? In this life, not only did he carry the seven treasures with him when he was born, but he also had enough food and clothing. , can you achieve enlightenment and attainment while listening to the Dharma?” The World Honored One told Ananda and everyone present: “An immeasurable kalpa ago, Vipassi Buddha lived in the world and saved countless sentient beings. One day, a group of monks went out and came. In a village, the residents were very happy to see the dignified and orderly monks, and they offered food and treasures. Although a poor man was also very happy, but because of his poverty, he had nothing but a handful of white stones that looked like pearls. There was nothing to give, so he offered his most precious white stone to the monks with great respect, and made a great vow to become a monk and achieve enlightenment in the future."
The Buddha told him. Difficulty: "The poor man who offered white stones to the monks at that time is now Bhikkhu Baotian. Because in his past life, he used stones as pearls to offer to the monks with sincerity and respect. After ninety-one kalpas, he was rich in wealth and had sufficient food and clothing. There is nothing less. In this life, I have the cause to become a monk, and while listening to the sound of the Dharma, I will attain the path and fruition.”
After listening to Bhikkhu Baotian’s cause and condition for attaining the path, all the people present at the meeting had unparalleled enlightenment. confidence. Some people have achieved the first fruition or even the fourth fruition, and some have quickly realized that the Bodhisattva will never retreat and change his position. They uphold and practice the Buddha's teachings and believe in them unswervingly.

Reflection
Buddhism is pursued with respect and achieved with selflessness. The reason why Bhikkhu Baotian carries the Seven Jewels with him in every life is because of his firm and sincere respect for the Three Jewels. This most precious, noble, and respectful offering heart is as round as a pearl and as smooth as a jade, so it inspires the pearl and jade to accompany it in all life after life. The same is true for attaining the Tao and Enlightenment. Because one thought is sincere and one hundred percent trust in the Dharma, one can hear the sound of the Dharma and correspond with the Dharma, and immediately obtain the Tao and Enlightenment.
The Story of Princess Zenguang
King Pasenadi was a wise king, kind-hearted and caring for the people. He was also a loyal lay disciple of the Buddha. Not only did he firmly believe in Buddhism, respect the Three Jewels, practice alms and offerings extensively, he also often got close to the Buddha, listened to scriptures and listened to the Dharma, and was the great protector of Buddhism at that time.
King Pasenadi had a lovely daughter named Shanguang. Not only does Shanguang look very majestic, but she also naturally radiates a soft light. She is also smart, supple, and extremely intelligent. Therefore, everyone in the palace dislikes her, and King Pasenadi and his wife love Shanguang very much and regard her as their beloved. The apple of your eye.
One day, after King Bosni had finished handling state affairs, he was chatting with Princess Zhanguang. He looked at the beautiful Zenguang and thought to himself: "Zengguang was born as my daughter and has the most favorable environment. The queen and I love her so much. How can ordinary people compare with her?" So, King Pasenadi couldn't help but said. : "Zhen Guang! You have received such great blessings today and are respected and loved by everyone, all because I am your father." King Bosni thought that Princess Zhan Guang would be very grateful to him, but unexpectedly Shan Guang replied: " That’s not the case! Father, this is all because of my karma, not because of you.”
Zenguang has always said that she is lucky. The retribution was cultivated by oneself and had nothing to do with King Pasenadi, which made King Pasenadi a little unhappy. So King Pasenadi told her solemnly: "Zhanguang! You have such great blessings today and are respected and loved by everyone all because I am your father." But Shanguang still replied: "That's not the case. ! Father, this is all because of my karma, not because of you.”
King Pasni was a little angry when he heard that Shanguang still insisted on his own opinion and showed no gratitude. I wonder what happened to my always well-behaved daughter? So he suppressed his temper that was about to explode and told her for the third time: "Zeng Guang! You have such great blessings today and are respected and loved by everyone all because I am your father." Unexpectedly, Zeng Guang's answer was still the same. Nothing has changed.
At this time, King Pasenadi was really angry and told Shanguang: "Today I want to see whether you have karma or not!" Then he ordered his attendants: "Go to the city to find one. The meanest and poorest young beggar, bring him back to the palace to see me." Not long after, the attendant found a dirty and smelly poor beggar in the city and told the king. King Pasenadi betrothed Princess Shanguang to the poor beggar, and said, "If you have karma and it has nothing to do with me, I can prove it from now on." Shanguang still replied in a neither humble nor arrogant manner: "It is my daughter who has karma.
"After saying that, the two people left the palace.
The beggar young man did not know where the great blessing came from. He married a beautiful and virtuous princess. He was very happy but a little confused. He had no idea about life. question, but Princess Zenguang was not worried at all. Zenguang asked him first: "Are your parents still alive? "The beggar young man replied: "My father was once the first elder in Savatthi City. Unfortunately, my parents and relatives have passed away long ago, so I lost support and wandered on the streets as a beggar. Zeng Guang asked again: "Then do you still know where your hometown is?" He said: "I know, I know, but the houses there are in disrepair and have collapsed long ago, leaving only open space." Zeng Guang told him: "I want to take a look. Can you please lead the way?" "So the beggar took Zenguang back to the old house.
Zenguang walked around the house. Wherever he went, the ground magically began to subside, and the treasures buried underground naturally emerged. The beggar young man I never knew that my parents had buried so many treasures underground, and they were speechless in surprise. So the two used these treasures to build a house. In less than a month, the house was built, and the servants in the house were there. There are too many to count.
It is said that after King Bosni married Zengguang to a poor beggar, his anger gradually disappeared. One day, he suddenly thought that he didn’t know how he was doing now. I asked my subordinate about Zenguang's situation. He replied: "The place where she lives now and her wealth are comparable to those of the palace. King Pasenadi sighed and said: "Buddha once said: 'If you do good or evil, you will receive its retribution.' It is indeed true at all." ”
On the same day, Princess Zenko also invited her husband to the palace to invite her father to her home. As soon as King Pasenak arrived at Zenko’s new home, he found that the furnishings and decorations in the house were even more majestic than the palace. It was he I had never seen it before, and I was very impressed. Zenguang knew that what he said was indeed true, so he told his father: "Because of the good deeds I performed in the past, I have such extraordinary results in this life. "
King Pasenadi left his daughter's home and went to the monastery to ask the Buddha, "What kind of blessings did Shanguang achieve in the past, so that she could be born into the royal family and have light in her body in this life?" The Buddha told King Pasenadi: "In the past ninety-one kalpas, a Buddha appeared in the world named Vipassi Buddha." After Vipassi Buddha entered nirvana, the king at that time, King Pantou, built a seven-jewel pagoda to offer the Buddha's relics, and the king's first lady offered a precious heavenly crown and placed it on the statue of Vipassī Buddha. In addition, the wish-fulfilling pearl in the heavenly crown was set in the center of the gate above the Buddhist niche. The wish-fulfilling pearl shone brightly, shining in all directions. Seeing this wonderful appearance, the lady made a vow: "I hope that in the future my body will have purple polished golden light, be honorable and noble, and will not fall into the three evils and eight difficulties." "At that time, the first lady This is Shan Guang.
Later, when Kassapa Buddha was born, Shan Guang also prepared all kinds of heavenly delicacies and fine food to offer to Kassapa Buddha and the four great disciples. , and wanted to stop her. But Shanguang persuaded her husband, "Please don't stop me, let me have this opportunity to make offerings to Kassapa Buddha, so that Tathagata can receive this offering and be happy in body and mind." When the husband heard what Shanguang said, he stopped. Obstruction. The husband at that time, who is also the husband of Shanguang today, suffered the consequences of poverty in this life because he prevented others from making offerings to the Three Jewels in his previous life. And because he no longer stopped Shanguang from making offerings, he must rely on Shanguang's blessings and causes in this life. If he is rich and noble, if he loses his good light, he will return to a life of poverty and humbleness. The consequences of good and evil will be inevitable."
After listening to the Buddha's teachings, King Pasenadi suddenly became enlightened and said: I had a deeper understanding of the principle of karma and retribution, so I bowed to the Buddha and left happily.
Reflection
Past causes are present consequences; present causes are future consequences. Buddhism is the most positive outlook on life.
Your current happiness is the result of your past efforts. However, if you only want to enjoy the rewards of the present and do not know how to actively do good deeds and create new things, no matter how great your wealth is, it will disappear. Princess Zhanguang knows the principle of cause and effect, so she has been actively doing good deeds throughout her life, and she has been bright and wealthy in every life.
From another perspective, if the evil karma is present now, it is also the cause of self-sowing in the past. Don’t blame others. As long as you keep a bright mind and actively do good deeds, once the bad karma is over, you can still have a bright future.
Businessmen built houses to worship Buddha
There was a businessman in Savatthi State who had an accident while traveling to other places to do business. He died in a foreign land, leaving his elderly mother to raise alone. his son.
When my son grows up, he also imagines traveling, doing business, and seeing the outside world like his father. When his grandmother found out, she told him: "Your father had an accident when he was doing business in other places, leaving us and our grandson to depend on each other. I can't bear the same thing to happen again and cause regrets, so can you stay in the city?" Just do business in the market?" So, the grandson followed his grandmother's advice and went to the city to find a suitable location to build a new shop and make a living.
When the young businessman came to the city, he found that all the residents here would devoutly make offerings to the Buddha. He was very envious and thought: "My newly built house has been completed, and I should also learn from the city. The merchants came to the Buddha's residence, paid sincere obeisance to the Lord, and respectfully said, "Honorable Buddha, I will provide you with a newly built house. From now on, when you invite the Buddha to enter the city, You can wash your hands, wash your alms bowl, or rest in my newly built house." The merchant offered the Buddha sincerely, and the Buddha accepted the offering compassionately.
Later, after the businessman passed away, he was reborn in a good way and became a heavenly being. In order to listen to the Buddha's teachings, heavenly beings also came to the World-Honored One and respectfully begged the Buddha to teach them. Immediately they achieved Sotapanna.
After the bhikkhus learned about it, they asked the Buddha to enlighten them: "What was the cause and condition of this deity's past life that led him to be reborn in the heavenly realm?" The Buddha said: "This deity was a businessman in his past life. I sincerely offered the newly built shop and house to the Buddha, so I was able to be reborn in the heavenly realm in this life. After becoming a heavenly being, I was able to listen to the main meaning of the Buddha's teachings due to my eagerness to seek Dharma. Therefore, with this good root, I immediately realized the results of Sotapanna." p>

Reflection
As the saying goes, "If you don't bring it with you in life, you won't take it with you in death." Everyone is naked. When the earth comes to this world, it will also leave empty-handed. However, because ordinary people are stingy and greedy and unable to see the true nature of life, they are always obsessed with the pursuit of fame, wealth and sex, and become slaves to material things. Therefore, when we admire the wealth and longevity of others and complain about our own unsatisfactory circumstances, we should remember: "If you want to know the cause of the past life, you will be the recipient of this life; if you want to know the result of the next life, you will be the perpetrator of this life." Only by grasping every moment in the present life can we Only by having the karma of giving and cultivating merit can you create a bright future for yourself.
The incredible consequences of making offerings to the Buddha
During the Buddha's time, there were five brothers who practiced heretic methods and lived in poverty. Therefore, they wanted to learn the heretical way of rebirth in the hope of staying away from hunger and cold. The pain of intercourse.
One day, the eldest brother "Yeshe" summoned his younger brothers to discuss: "We five brothers are all very old, and living in such a miserable state is not an option! It is better to concentrate on practicing asceticism and obtain meditation as soon as possible. Can be reborn in heaven and enjoy the blessings of heaven." The second child "Wugou", the third child "Kaufan Boti" and the fourth child "Su Tuoyi" heard the eldest said this and immediately agreed. Only the youngest "Fu Na" hesitated for a while, thinking: "I have been practicing asceticism with my brothers for many years, but I still can't answer my doubts about life. It's better to stay at the foot of the mountain, maybe I can find the true meaning of life." So. He said: "Brothers, I want to stay at the foot of the mountain first. If you need anything, I can protect you."
The brothers did not force their younger brothers and set out to go up the mountain early the next day. Verna cultivated the only acre of barren land in the family as usual. Suddenly, in the morning breeze, a group of mendicant monks came from a distance, like a ray of light in the morning light. Especially the monks at the head exuded incomparable auspiciousness and auspiciousness, and their solemn appearance made him reluctant to leave for a long time. Open your eyes.
It turns out that this is the Buddha who has been blessed with perfect blessings and wisdom for a long time. He came here to beg for alms! Funa was so happy that he rushed home and offered the best rice to the Buddha devoutly. Afterwards, Funa continued his day's farming until the sun went down.
When Funa stepped out of his house the next day and was about to go to the fields, he suddenly discovered that the dry rice in the field had turned into golden rice plants, emitting a soft golden light. ! And it grows tall and strong, several feet long, and full of fruits.
After a burst of cheers, he immediately carefully cut some golden rice and rushed to the busiest market to show everyone such incredible rice. Of course, the rice was quickly sold out. So Funa went back and cut a lot to sell in the market. An even more incredible thing happened - after the rice was cut, it grew again very quickly. As a result, this small acre of land could not be harvested.
After the news came out, even the king took his ministers to the fields to pick this magical golden rice. People in all the cities also came to pick Funa's rice out of curiosity. Likewise, There is no way to harvest them all. Of course, Verna soon became the richest man in the country. A few months later, the brothers who went to the mountains to practice asceticism thought that their brother was living a poor life at the foot of the mountain, so they went down the mountain to see the poor brother. When I found out that my younger brother had become a very wealthy family in just a few months, I was so surprised that I couldn't speak for a long time. After Funa asked them to sit down, he happily talked about offering a bowl of rice to the Buddha.
After hearing this, Yashe and others happily said to his brother: "It turns out that making offerings to the Buddha has such extraordinary blessings. So, please help us make some joyful buns for the four of us." Take a joyful ball to offer to the Buddha. We don’t seek to hear the Dharma or gain liberation, we just want to be reborn and enjoy happiness as soon as possible.”
Funa quickly prepared an exquisite joyful ball for the four of us. An elder brother brought him to the monastery where the Buddha resided. Seeing the compassionate Buddha, the eldest son respectfully put the joyful ball into the Buddha's alms bowl. The Buddha told him: "All actions are impermanent." Then the second child also put the joyful ball into the Buddha's stone bowl, and the Buddha told him : "This is the Dharma of birth and death." When the third child respectfully made offerings, he heard: "The birth and death has ceased." Finally, after the fourth child made offerings to the joyful group, he heard the Buddha say: "Nirvana is bliss!"
Although they did not realize the truth spoken by the Buddha for a while, after giving alms, they all felt filled with the joy of pure Dharma. When they returned home, they excitedly discussed the French words that everyone had heard, and then discovered that the four sentences connected together were: "The impermanence of all actions is the law of birth and death; birth and death have ceased, and cessation is "Happy" verse.
With pure hearts after making respectful offerings, they sat down quietly, each pondering the principles of the verses, and soon achieved the fruit of Anagami. After being grateful, they realized that the outsiders' pursuit of rebirth in heaven and enjoyment of heavenly blessings are still the joy of birth and death. After enjoying the heavenly blessings, they will still fall and suffer. So, they came to the Buddha's place together, requested to be ordained and became monks, and continued to practice hard. Soon they all achieved the fruit of Arhat, and were able to escape the suffering of the cycle of life and death in the three realms and enter the holy path.
The allusion is excerpted from: "The Miscellaneous Treasures Sutra. Volume 4 - Food from the Buddha's alms bowl is rewarded by Funa Shi"
Thoughts
"Forty In the Sutra of Two Chapters, the Buddha said: "Thousands of billions of Buddhas in three generations are not as good as a person who has no thoughts, no actions, no cultivation, and no realization." What is "a person who has no thoughts, no actions, no cultivation, and no realization"? It is a pure heart without any contamination. Therefore, making pious offerings without asking for anything is the most supreme merit of offering.
All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, riding Cihang, entered this unbearable Saha world, and even the pure monks and treasures who begged to seek transformation from above and descend into their bodies, all in order to create a field of blessing for all living beings, so that all living beings can cultivate blessings. Blessings, give up greed, increase wisdom, only hope that all living beings can enlighten and understand the knowledge of the Buddha, and ultimately complete the great matter of escape from life and death, so the blessings obtained by making offerings to the Three Jewels are great. If you can make offerings with sincerity and respect without asking for anything, the merits you will gain will be incomparable to the blessings a person is born with.
