Understanding and Views on Ancient China People
Experience of learning ancient Chinese 1
There is a road in the mountain of books, but there is no limit to learning the sea. Behind every harvest is hard work. Ancient Chinese is the most difficult course for Chinese language and literature majors, but it can't be said that it has changed color, because it is a precious ideological legacy left by our ancestors. Through her, we can feel the love and hate of our ancestors, understand the thoughts of philosophers and appreciate the ancient scenery ... It is a blessing to let our homesickness travel through time and space.
First, learn the characteristics of ancient Chinese.
Ancient Chinese is a stereotyped language, which has been used for more than two thousand years. Hundred schools of thought's prose, ci fu of Han Dynasty, historical works, ancient prose of Tang and Song Dynasties … all these are within its scope. Undoubtedly, this language is the most basic written language form used in China's ancient literature. In my opinion, its characteristics can be summarized as follows:
(1) be concise. Throughout China's important ancient books, most of them are written in classical Chinese, and many of them are especially famous for their conciseness, such as The Book of Songs and Historical Records. As long as we do a simple analysis, we can find the concise factors it contains: first, monosyllabic words are the main ones in ancient Chinese, while disyllabic words and polysyllabic words are few; Second, there were many omissions in ancient Chinese. The omission of subject, object, predicate and preposition is very common, and the famous scholars of past dynasties pay more attention to the tempering of language and emphasize the "subtle meaning", which forms its rigorous and concise style.
(2) enduring. Ancient Chinese, with classical Chinese as the main written language, was handed down from generation to generation and used from generation to generation before the May 4th Movement. Language elements remain basically unchanged. For example, some basic sentence patterns and the usage of common function words in the pre-Qin period have been preserved in use. In addition, the most vivid words in the three elements of language also have strong stability-in the process of oral communication, the ancient meanings of some words have long disappeared, but they are still used in ancient Chinese. Although there are imitations in later generations, it will inevitably penetrate some spoken languages at that time and bring some subtle changes to the language. However, on the whole, classical Chinese still retains its original characteristics in vocabulary and grammar.
(3) Deconstructing language. It is generally believed that spoken language is the basis of the emergence and development of written language, and there is a close influence and promotion between them. Classical Chinese was formed in the pre-Qin spoken language, but with the passage of time, it gradually widened the distance from the later spoken language. From the Han and Wei Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, due to the official implementation and the need of imperial examinations, scholars deliberately imitated the language of the "Four Books and Five Classics" to write poems and articles, focusing on elegance and integrity. In this way, the distance between classical Chinese as a written language and the language actually used by people is getting bigger and bigger, resulting in the phenomenon of separation of language and text.
(4) Long and profound. Over time, the gap between spoken English and this language has become more and more difficult to understand. Unusual words, embarrassing sentences, and unfamiliar ancient books and recording systems ... all these bring difficulties to learners and add many difficulties to their study.
Second, the significance of learning Ancient Chinese
(1) Learning ancient Chinese and laying a good foundation for ancient Chinese are not only important requirements for personal cultural literacy, but also an important part of basic Chinese knowledge. Only by mastering it firmly and deeply can we create good conditions for further study and future work. The subject of literature, history and philosophy covers literature, history, philosophy, thought and many other aspects, all of which are related to history. It goes without saying that to understand the relevant situation in China, we must read ancient books and essays. Even natural sciences, such as architecture, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, calendar, geoscience, etc. , all related to it. Joseph Needham, an expert in the history of science and technology in Britain, once listed China's contribution to the world 100, and thought that many ancient inventions originated in China, which were confirmed in ancient cultural relics and books in China.
(2) Without ancient Chinese, we couldn't find the way back to "home". This sentence is deeply felt by Chinese students. Comparing classical Chinese with vernacular Chinese, we all know that classical Chinese is the accumulation of thousands of years of history and culture, while vernacular Chinese is less than 100 years. What a sharp contrast. Therefore, we can say that the purity and elegance of China language is rooted in classical Chinese. Classical Chinese is the cornerstone of vernacular Chinese. At the beginning of last century, many masters emerged in China's literary world "Starlight Glimmer", such as Lu Xun, Hu Shi, Lin Yutang, Liang Shiqiu, Wen Yiduo, Lao She and Ba Jin. All these are models. They are brilliant, gentle and extraordinary in temperament. They are not so much literary masters who advocate the vernacular as they are proficient in it. Time flies, but by the end of the century, China's literary world was "gone forever" and "eclipsed", and there was no master. Even the masters who were born in the early stage left us only endless grief. The treasure accumulated for thousands of years was completely denied in an instant, and the result can be imagined.
(3) Learning ancient Chinese is helpful to master ancient excellent culture, improve moral cultivation, strengthen national self-confidence and enhance social responsibility. Mao Zedong, a great man, said: "We should clean up the development process of ancient culture, eliminate its feudal dross and absorb its democratic essence, so as to develop national new culture and improve national self-confidence." (Selected Works of New Democratic Mao Zedong, People's Publishing House, 1966, p. 668) Naturally, to critically inherit ancient culture, we must learn ancient Chinese well, because as an important carrier of ancient cultural inheritance, it plays a decisive role. To understand these cultures, you must have the ability to read ancient materials. Therefore, only by learning ancient Chinese well can we understand the excellent culture of ancient China and the past of our nation and look forward to a bright future.
(4) Learning ancient Chinese will help to strengthen ties with compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese, enhance ideological and cultural exchanges, and make contributions to promoting modernization and rejuvenating the country. There is no doubt about it. It is reported that it has been reported before that the education department and experts are envisaging returning some commonly used words to traditional forms and infiltrating them into the basic education of primary and secondary schools, which is also a manifestation of attaching importance to the teaching of ancient Chinese.
From the above aspects, we can say that we need ancient Chinese and we need to learn it well. These are very necessary, especially for China students. However, how can we learn ancient Chinese well?
Third, the methods of learning Ancient Chinese
In view of the difficulty of learning Ancient Chinese, I will teach you how to learn and talk about my learning experience of Ancient Chinese.
As we all know, people do something for two reasons: one is to complete the task, and the other is to be interested in the task. From this, we can easily know that the former is passive, so the attitude is negative, so the result is only satisfied with completing the task and meeting the requirements; The latter is the opposite, because he is interested. First of all, his attitude is positive and enthusiastic. Of course, they are looking forward to the result of "going up a storey still higher". After comparison, we have no doubt that interest is the best teacher. The same is true of learning ancient Chinese. Therefore, learners must stimulate their interest in learning from many aspects.
(2) As a newcomer to ancient Chinese, I have to go through the traditional customs for the first time. When you meet unfamiliar words, mark them first, and then look them up in the ancient Chinese dictionary. We must understand the meaning of words, so that we can better understand the text. Learning from point to surface.
(3) The intensive reading part of the text must be understood; If you ask to recite, you should recite it as much as possible, and it is best to recite it. Didn't the ancients have a poem saying, "You can't know the meaning of a book until you read it a hundred times"?
(4) In reading the text, there are many intensive reading parts, which must be understood. But due to the limited time, I can't understand them bit by bit, so I looked up a lot of information "fast food" from the Internet. For example, if you search for "carefree travel" from Baidu, a lot of relevant information will appear. In order to save time, I only read the translation, and then read the explanation in the textbook in combination with the translation. I have different opinions from the internet, and then I appreciate it carefully. I use my own ideas to make my own more reasonable explanation. I should never read it in a book.
(5) The grammar part should also be carefully studied. Especially the part you don't understand. Don't pretend to know forever. As long as you study hard, you will understand.
(6) In addition, the emergence and development of multimedia technology and information technology have provided great convenience for our teaching, and ancient Chinese teaching should also take advantage of this "east wind" to increase students' interest. We can integrate sound, video and so on. Integrate into it and implement audio-visual teaching. For example, a movie "Jing Ke Stabbed the King of Qin" helps us to get in touch with the story more vividly, thus stimulating students' participation and enthusiasm for learning.
How to learn ancient Chinese well is a very complicated problem, which many experts and scholars have studied for a long time. Here, I dare not teach others how to teach others how to swim, but compared with them, I emphasize the role of interest more. It should be said that it has played a role that no one can ignore. I believe that dreams are planted in your heart. No matter whether you have the ability to achieve them or not, no matter how slim your chances are, as long as you have one percent hope, you have to make 100 percent efforts. There is no shortcut to learning, we rely on strength. Believe that heaven rewards diligence, where there is a will, there is a way. Quote a sentence from Le Xiaoyao's article: In the most desperate time, you may be only one step away from success; Through the darkest hours before dawn, you can see the rising sun in Ran Ran in the east …
