What are the customs when people die?

In my hometown, the customs of people's death are very complicated, so I will choose some to talk about.

First, pour in the chicken. When the old man dies, the dutiful son is not allowed to cry loudly, let alone shed tears at the dead (it is said that a tear is equivalent to nailing a seedling to the dead). When the old man dies, he will catch a bordeaux chicken, chop it on the kang and call it a chicken. It is said that it is used to guide the dead, and then burn a lot of paper money behind the kang. One is the cost of the dead on the road, and the other is to tip the messenger not to torture the old man on the road.

Second, disaster. It is said that after death, people should prepare three-color cloth, that is, clear cloth, red cloth and white cloth, tie them together with ten red lines and hang them on bamboo sticks. Patriarch or Zhuang Lao will take it on the dead man and tell him to say only his own name, and then call someone else's head out at the window. The dutiful son should lean against the doorpost and don't look back. He will take out a cloth and shout "Big or Queen out of the window", followed by two disasters.

Third, become an outlaw. Before becoming an outlaw, light an ever-burning lamp, put it in front of the dead, and refuel at any time. If it can't be put out, it's called an ever-burning lamp. Become an outlaw, in the eyes of ordinary people, people's lives are like flowers and trees withered in autumn. When people die, they will move from the kang to the room table above (the deceased is the biggest). In hot weather, they will be moved to the room upstairs and then fall to the ground under the table. In advance, they will burn the ground with boiling water, dig a pit more than a foot deep to prevent the body from rotting, and then wrap their feet with shovels and hemp chips. Neighbor's parents-in-law heard the news, advised the son not to be too sad, but also to take care of the funeral, and then sent someone to carry a straw mat on his back and let the son sit on the straw mat.

Fourth, yellow burial. If the deceased dies in summer, it is usually three days in the morning and a funeral is held in the afternoon. Yin and Yang look at the time of burial rather than the day of funeral, which is called yellow (panic) burial.

5. The kitchen is said to go to the kitchen three nights after death. All the deacons and dutiful sons finished their dinner early. After the dutiful son turns the paper, the kitchen should be cleaned. There are some incense wax in front of the kitchen god, as well as paper paste that needs to be burned, such as horses, lamawa, cars and drivers now. It is generally convenient and quick to ask the director or Yin and Yang teacher to recite the mantra in advance.

Unload the bed in six or seven days? After the death of the deceased, the dutiful son made a paper memorial every morning and after dinner, and slept in the grass shop at night to repay his parents' kindness in raising and his mother's kindness in growing grass. On the seventh night, the dutiful son will clean up the sleeping place of the deceased, lay the bedding and wait for the deceased to come and unload the bed. It is said that the deceased has been detained in the Temple of the Mountain since he left, and he can only be brought back to the Tenth Hall for trial after seven days of unloading his bed. If the deceased is a woman, she will cook for three days and get out of bed for seven days and go back to her parents' home once. There is also a saying that "the living is the ghost of her mother's family after death."

Seven, hospitality. Arrange Yin and Yang, wake, grave-beating, carpentry, blowing and Zhuang Lao's officers. Others will sit regardless of their seats. The dutiful sons will look at the wine and say thank you. Please eat and drink well. When entertaining guests, put four plates of cold dishes on your palm and give them to Yin Yang, carpenter, blower and a pot of wine respectively.

Eight, covering the soil. After entertaining everyone, all the utensils can't be returned for the time being, and the dutiful son can't come to the door for three days. It is said that there is a feeling of mourning. On the third morning, when no one is around, the dutiful son will burn paper and incense on the grave with incense, wax, paper, wine, vegetables and a shovel, and then press three shovels of earth on the grave, which is called covering the earth. After returning home, all utensils can be returned to others.
