Since 1991, Jilin City has held the "Rime Ice and Snow Festival" every year. Jilin City has long been famous for its rime. However, most people know about the Shili Long Causeway in the urban area, but few people know that there is a rime island in the lower reaches of the Songhua River, 35 kilometers away from Jilin City. Rime Island is named after the abundant and beautiful rime. The trees here have strange shapes. The weeping willows along the river are covered with white and crystal frost flowers. The silver threads flicker in the river wind. The scenery is both wild and beautiful. Rime, commonly known as tree hanging, is one of the four wonders in my country. There is a saying that goes, "Look at the fog at night, look at the fog in the morning, and wait until nearly noon to appreciate the falling flowers." This is the process of rime coming from nothing, and from being to nothing. The wonders of rime fascinate countless tourists, and the most famous rime-viewing resorts include Jilin, Lushan, Huangshan and other places, among which "Jilin rime is the most amazing in the world". Next to Rime Island is Zengtong Island, and Hantun across the river is a good place for photography enthusiasts to live.

Rime is not snow or ice, but frost hanging on the branches. Looking along the embankment of the Songhua River, the pines and willows are covered with frost and covered with snow, and the jade and silver are covered with flowers, like white clouds, and the rows of snow waves are very spectacular. The best place to see the rime in Jilin is the Rime Island in the lower reaches of the Songhua River. In the past, most people who came here were photography enthusiasts, but now, it is becoming more and more known to more tourists.

Best viewing time

Rime only appears in winter. The best season to watch rime in Jilin is from late December to the end of February of the following year. This is because the formation of rime has its own unique environment and conditions.
