China’s insistence on the Ukrainian issue

Five persistences.

First, persist in persuading peace and promoting talks in the right direction. We advocate dialogue and negotiation as the only way out, oppose adding fuel to the fire and intensifying confrontation, call for a ceasefire and an end to the war, and support direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.

The second is to insist on safeguarding the basic norms of international relations. We advocate respecting the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and oppose pushing small and medium-sized countries to the front line of geopolitical games.

The third is to insist on preventing the resurgence of Cold War mentality. We do not agree with the opposition of either enemy or friend camps, firmly promote international unity, advocate a common, cooperative, comprehensive and sustainable security concept, and respect and accommodate the legitimate and reasonable concerns of all parties.

The fourth is to insist on safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of all countries. We oppose unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and call for the maintenance of international industrial and supply chains to avoid damaging normal economic and trade exchanges and people's lives among countries.

Fifth, we must persist in consolidating peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific. We firmly adhere to the diplomatic policy of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness with neighboring countries. We are wary of the United States using the "Indo-Pacific Strategy" to introduce blocs to the region to confront troubles, accelerate the promotion of regional integration cooperation, and protect the hard-won development momentum of the region.

It borders Russia and Belarus in the east and north, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary in the west, and Romania and Moldova in the south.
