This poem sounds bleak. Coupled with the name Liangzhou, it always gives people a sense of desolation and remoteness. Indeed, today's Liangzhou is located in an area below Wuwei City, Gansu Province, called "Liangzhou District". Although it has become a district now, in ancient times, it was a vast place.

Liangzhou at that time included a large area such as Longxi, Jincheng, Tianshui, Anding, Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan and Dunhuang. It can be said that more than half of Gansu and even some areas outside the province were under the jurisdiction of Liangzhou.
