How do old people over 80 live in the countryside?

In China, there are great differences between rural areas. In some rural areas in the eastern coastal cities, life may be more comfortable than in some small cities, but in some rural areas in the central and western regions, life is really bitter.

Tell me about my grandparents, a small city on the eastern coast. They are over 80 years old and have been living in the countryside. In my opinion, they are relatively poor, but their stories are much better than those of their childhood, and they are unwilling to use them even if they have money.

Grandparents live alone, on the third floor of dad's house, with one room, one living room, one kitchen and one bathroom, and cook by themselves. There are three sons and two daughters, and the children are filial. My aunts will visit my grandparents before the festival and bring them some food. My sons give them living expenses every year. Because they live in the village, their son's cooking is delicious, and they will be invited to eat or bring them some. Usually, sons and daughters-in-law will buy them some meat or fruit.

Grandparents' dishes are basically self-sufficient or planted by one son. Grandpa will also plant some vegetables to sell in the village or the market next door. Grandma usually does some small manual work in the small processing factory in the village, which costs tens of dollars a day. Many people may say, how can you still work at such a big age? First, grandparents are in good health. They can't help it, and there are no good recreational activities in the countryside. Except for the local dialect programs at six or seven in the evening, many TVs can't understand them. Second, they have experienced hardships and always want to earn more money. Their rural endowment insurance is less than 20,000 a year, and the living expenses given by their sons are actually quite a lot a year, but they feel that they are very idle and always want to find something to do. It is better to have income.

In fact, I think my grandparents' life is quite good, free, self-sufficient and full of hope.
