The growth process of bamboo

The growth process of bamboo can be divided into four stages: seedling stage, long leaf stage, growth maturity stage and bamboo leaf death stage.

1. Emergence stage: At this stage, bamboo sprouts through roots and grows into bamboo shoots. Before bamboo shoots were unearthed, nutrients were obtained and exchanged mainly through underground stems. This is the initial stage of bamboo growth, and bamboo shoots grow silently in the soil to prepare for the subsequent breakthrough.

2. Long-leaf period: When spring comes, bamboo shoots break through the ground and begin to enter the long-leaf period. At this time, the shell of bamboo shoots gradually falls off, and bamboo branches are pulled out from the middle. At this stage, the cell wall of bamboo began to thicken, the hardness gradually increased, and the material of bamboo also entered a critical stage of growth.

3. Maturity stage: At this stage, bamboo begins to grow rapidly at jointing stage, with the height ranging from several centimeters to several meters or even dozens of meters. This is the most vigorous period of bamboo growth, and it is also the most significant stage of its body shape change. In the mature stage, bamboo leaves and bamboo shoots have fully developed, and bamboo begins to bear seeds. At this time, bamboo has the ability to resist drought and cold.

4. Dead period of bamboo leaves: After bamboo blooms and bears fruit, it enters the dead period. At this time, bamboo leaves began to wither and turn yellow, and the vitality of bamboo gradually declined. However, it is worth noting that when the next spring comes, new plants will grow out of the soil and start a new growth cycle.
