What is the experience of having a mother-in-law who prefers boys to girls?

My mother-in-law is like this, and I have a deep understanding. My first child was a girl at that time. When my mother-in-law knew it was a girl, her whole face turned green. She didn't go to the hospital to see the baby, and she didn't talk to me much for the next year. I always ignore it. Then a boy came the next year.
