What is the cost of living in Laos?

I stayed there for several years. Tell me what I know, I hope it will be useful to you:

1. Rent: There are great differences between regions and urban and rural areas, but generally it is much cheaper than that in China, so if your income is as much as that in China, rent is not a problem.

2. Diet: If you can adapt to the diet there (the staple food is glutinous rice and vegetables are relatively simple), it will be less than or similar to the domestic average price. According to China people's eating habits, the cost is estimated to be twice the domestic average price.

3. Transportation: There are basically no buses, and taxis are all three-wheeled motorcycles, which feels higher than domestic prices. If you stay long enough, I suggest you get a motorcycle and go anywhere conveniently.

4. Social security: I haven't heard of paying social security to employees. Maybe all my contacts are temporary workers. You have to tell your boss yourself (I wonder if Laos has social security).
