Chen's former residence is located in the Hakka mountainous area of Zhangjiacun, with beautiful scenery in his hometown.

Chen's children, who live in Beijing and the United States, keep writing letters asking for the restoration of their old homes so that they can have a place to live when they return to China to visit relatives. Therefore, we must find a way to restore his former residence. After the meeting, Beihai Hakka Overseas Friendship Association and Zhang Qu Township Government took the lead in mobilizing Hakka donations. With the concern and donation of the government and people from all walks of life, the second floor of Chen's former residence was completed in May 2003, which will become a famous cultural landscape in the ancient town.
