Some answers can be found in stories in Tibetan scriptures.

Once upon a time, the Buddha spoke for the Buddha's mother, Mrs. Moyev, for thirty-three days. Bodhisattvas, eight sects, ghosts and gods came from all directions to gather and listen to the Buddha's words.

Manjusri Bodhisattva asked about the deeds of the Tibetan King Bodhisattva, and the Buddha gave such an answer.

Long before the unspeakable catastrophe, there was a living Buddha named Shizi Fenxun, who could do anything.

There was once an elder's son. When he saw the Buddha, he felt that he had thousands of solemn blessings. So ask: What big wish did you make to get this face?

The sub-trainer replied in a thousand words: If you want to get my face, you must use the pure wisdom of Buddhism and spend a long time to spend all the beings in the sea.

Hearing this, the elder's son immediately made a big wish, saying: I will try my best to free all the six suffering beings from today until the endless future, and then become a Buddha on the right path.

The elder's son used to be a land king and a bodhisattva. After he made a big wish, he stayed in the position of a bodhisattva.

Before getting the fruit of bodhisattva, the bodhisattva, the king of earth treasure, was once a woman born in Brahma.

In this life, there is a Buddha living on earth. His name is Juehua.

The name of the Bodhisattva, the King of Earth-Tibet, can't be verified, and she is called a brahmin woman in the Earth-Tibet Sutra.

This woman is loved by people because of her past life, and will be guarded by the gods at any time. But at present, she believes in fallacies and heresies and often despises the three treasures of Buddhism.

The brahmin woman tried her best to bring her mother back to the right view, but her mother didn't listen to her persuasion at all. Not long ago, my mother died, and my soul fell into endless hell.

At that time, brahmin women knew that their mothers didn't believe in karma. According to their karma before their death, they were bound to be reborn as three evil interests (beast, hungry ghost and hell).

So, she sold her property, bought a lot of Buddhist instruments and offered them in front of the stupa.

One day, in a temple.

When Brahmin women saw the statue of Juehua, such as the statue of King Lai, and saw its solemn face, they could not help but pay homage to it. Meditation: Buddha, you have all wisdom. If you hear my prayer, please tell me where my mother went after she died!

The brahmin woman cried for a long time in front of the Buddha statue, and suddenly she heard a voice: Cry Saint, don't be sad, I'll tell you where your mother is.

The brahmin woman put her hands together and asked, who is the sage to comfort me? Since my mother died, I have been thinking about her day and night, but I just don't know which world she went to.

At this time, the voice in the air said: I am the Juehua you see now, and the Tathagata is at home. I see you miss your mother a hundred times more than ordinary people, so I'll tell you where she is going.

Hearing this, the brahmin woman fell to the ground and hurt herself. She was held by people around her and gradually woke up. Say to the air: may the Buddha be merciful, tell me quickly, where is mother now? I believe I'm exhausted and dying.

Tathagata replied: Go back to your residence as soon as you finish today. Just say my name and you will know where your mother is.

Brahmin women are devout admirers, and after returning to their homes, they want to know the whereabouts of their mothers. I sat up straight and recited the name Tathagata. After a day and a night, I suddenly came to a seaside.

This sea is like boiling water, and there are many steel behemoths flying on the surface.

Brahmin women saw countless figures churning in the sea, and they were devoured by these evil beasts. I also saw many ferocious hags, with many hands and feet, or blue face and fangs. Chasing the figure in the sea, forcing it close to the evil beast, being bitten and swallowed.

These temptresses are different in shape, ferocious and terrible. People dare not look them in the eye, but brahmin women are blessed by Buddhism and have no fear in their hearts.

Not long after, an innocent ghost king came to visit the Brahmin girl: OK, Bodhisattva, why are you here?

The brahmin woman asked: What is this place?

Non-toxic ghost king replied: this is the first heavy sea in Shanxi province of Datiewei.

The brahmin woman asked again: I heard that hell is in Datianshan. Is it true?/You don't say.

Non-toxic ghost king replied: there is indeed hell.

The brahmin woman asked again: When shall I come?

Non-toxic ghost king replied: unless there are two ways, one is to rely on the strength of the guardian god, and the other is karma traction. Otherwise, we can't come here.

The brahmin woman looked at the sea and asked, why is the sea boiling here? Why are there so many people and monsters?

The non-toxic ghost king replied: These people are evil beings of Jambu-Di^pa (South Station is not a state). They all came here to suffer because they had no children to support for 49 days after their death.

These people didn't do good deeds before their lives, but after their death, they were inspired by karma and went to hell. Before entering hell, they have to swim across this sea of suffering, and then go to the east100000 days (the marching distance unit in ancient India), and there is another sea of suffering, in which the pain is a hundred times stronger than here. Continue to the east, it is still a sea of pain, and the pain is more intense.

The triple sea of suffering mentioned here is also inspired by karma, so it is called the sea of karma.

The brahmin woman asked the non-toxic ghost king again: where is the hell?

Non-toxic ghost king replied: these three seas of suffering are all big hell, the number is difficult to measure, and each hell is different. The largest is eighteen, and the second largest is five hundred. The suffering in these hells is indescribable, and the suffering in other huge hells is countless.

The brahmin woman asked again: I just died recently, and I don't know where my soul is now.

The non-toxic ghost king asked: Bodhisattva, what did your mother do before her death?

The Brahmin woman replied: My mother was obsessed with Jaken before her death and often vilified the three treasures of Buddhism; Although I once believed in Buddhism, it didn't last long. I haven't been dead long, and I don't know where I am now.

The non-toxic ghost king asked again: Dare to ask your mother's name?

The Brahmin woman replied: My parents are both Brahmins, and my father's name is Shiluo Shanxian. At present, his name is Yue Dili.

The non-toxic ghost king crossed his hands and respectfully replied: Bodhisattva, you can rest assured to go home and never have to worry about your mother again. Your mother has been in heaven for three days. Just because you, a filial daughter, supported her in practice before the Tathagata King. Not only your present moment, but also other beings who suffer in endless hell, also went out of hell on the same day.

Say that finish, non-toxic ghost king hands crossed salute, and then disappeared.

Later, the brahmin woman woke up in her residence as if she had had a dream.

Recalling what she saw and heard not long ago, before she came to the Buddha statue of Wang Tathagata, she made a grand vow in this world: I hope that in the endless time in the future, I will use the same method to transcend all beings and free them.

Above, the two previous lives of the Tibetan King and the Bodhisattva made the same big wish, which was widely praised by Buddhists as "great filial piety" and "great wish".

Later, before Maitreya came to the world, he was entrusted by Sakyamuni to take care of the suffering beings instead of him. Only when all beings in hell cross over in the future will they be willing to prove the ultimate Buddha fruit.
