Laminated veneer lumber (laminated veneer lumber)

LVB = laminated veneer lumber (LVB is a special grouping form in LVL, adding several layers of transverse fibers in the same fiber direction).

LVL (laminated veneer lumber) is a veneer made of logs by rotary cutting or planing, drying and gluing, assembling along or mostly along the wood grain, and then hot pressing and gluing. It has the structural characteristics that solid wood sawn timber does not have: high strength, high toughness, good stability and accurate specifications, which is three times higher than that of solid wood sawn timber. This product can be used for building formwork components, building beams, carriage boards, furniture, floors, wooden keels for room decoration and packaging materials, with a wide range of applications.

The middle and low-grade ones are generally used to make scaffold pedals LVL scaffold boards, formwork supports LVL formwork beams, furniture, door core boards, product packaging and so on. And the high-end ones are used to make beams and columns of wood structures and support LVL beams.

How to choose LVB and LVL, customers mainly choose according to the purpose:

If the thickness is relatively thin (generally below 25mm), then LVB is generally used, because adding transverse fibers to the veneer can control the width deformation of the board to some extent.

However, if the strength requirement is high, it is best to adopt LVL structure. There are two kinds of forces on LVL: front and side, and there are two kinds of tests on strength: static bending strength and elastic modulus.
